To play from my local library. It would be good if I don't have to remake my playlists when I switch between devices
I loved poweramp for android especially because I could just drop my songs in, and it will sort it automatically in the corresponded albums for the song, and the EQ is probably one of the best on android players. I've tried music bee but the album sort was a mess and manually going through my whole music library is something I don't wanna commit to.
Is there some other music player on windows that can achieve what I want?
'm looking for a basic music player for PC- something with a good queue system like Musicolet and easy playlist management. Right now, I use Foobar, but maybe due to my customizations, I can't properly set up queues, and most resources I've found about it are over 10 years old.
I don't want to use Plex since I'm not interested in paying for a license. I did try Jellyfin, but also want to have an offline copy of my library on my phone. Unfortunately, the player I used with Jellyfin behaved strangely-it felt like it was made primarily for streaming, and downloading was more of an afterthought.
Right now, I've just set up an FTP server on my phone, copy files from my PC, and use Musicolet which works for now because my collection is pretty small (30 GB MP3s 320/kb). Maybe there's a better way to use Jellyfin for offline playback, or perhaps I should just use two different players on my devices. I do like Musicolet, but I haven't found a good player for PC yet
Which one did you settle? I like aesthetics more but don't let that distract you, share your best app.
Thank you for your attention.
I primarily use VLC for video, but I want something that nicely organizes my library into albums and such for music. I WAS using grove music till they killed it, and I just switched over to the new windows media player app when I realized it removed all my .wav music and so my mass effect 3 album wasn't on my playlist. At that point, I gave up.
Does anyone have a favorite music player?
Edit: Wow, thanks everybody for the suggestions!! Too many posts to individually respond, kinda tempted to go through and tally the recs for each player though.
Any suggestion for best music player for android
I have never seen such conflicting studies. Some say Groove is better cuz its newer, less bugs, and will be updated more frequently. Others say VLC is still king as it can run more format and even some corrupted formats to some degree. Some sources says there is no difference and other say we have to look at the codex or something.
Should there be a more concert answer to this, we are dealing with 1s and 0s after all how can their be so many conflicting opinions on quality. I mainly want to focus on audio quality so if someone can help me navigate this mess that would be great.
What's the best Music player for Android?
To play from my local collection. Requirements are to play lyrics files with a good UI.
Tried PixelPlay but it has many bugs. And I used to use samsung music, but now the ui looks like to have a redesign.
So whats the best thing available, and ofc for free
Hi, I'm sick of dealing with streaming services and would rather listen to music on my phone that is sourced entirely from my personal collection. I'm looking for something that can handle large playlists, and ideally can still scrobble to lastfm. In a perfect world it would be great if it had compatibility with a desktop version as well. I'm happy to pay for a quality program as well, not just wanting to hear about free options. I want the best of the best if possible.
Sorry if I sound amateur about all of this. Thank you for any help provided.
Over the next 1-2 months I want to use lots of different music players for the sole purpose of finding the 'best' ones. If you have any suggestions, especially ones I don't have already, please comment them. Looking for music players (so .mp3 and .flac players). In a while, I will report back with details on each app.
FOSS is not a requirement, but being free is.

I was wondering if there was a music player app that could play music by folders instead of by album. like in android. the ones i found in windows would either play standalone tracks or only by album.
SOLVED!
Many thanks to u/firebreathingbunny for the answer, it's Poweramp!
Howdy! So, I run a network of PC's on Windows 10, I use a sync program to sync my files across all my devices, and I use android mobile devices.
I'm currently using Windows Media Player and while the playlists themselves DO sync to my android devices in the Music folder, the music apps I've used don't recognize them.
PROBLEM: My playlists that I create on my PC with WMP DO sync with the music files in my androind device, but the music players I've used on my device DO NOT recognize the playlists.
I've had this happen with VLC player, Google Play Music, iHeart player, Music Player - Audify player, PlayerPro Music Player, Samsung Music, and TuneIn Music player.
I'm expanding my search to include changing the player on my pc's to accomodate, so if there's a player that has a PC AND Androind client that DOES sync playlists, I'd like hear about that, too.
I'm not interested in 'trying' a bunch of stuff by installing it and finding out; that's a waste of my time, and just clogs up my devices with no real value.
So, if you know of a solution that works, drop it below! :D
Hey there! What are some of the top music players? Been sick of itunes for years. Also needs to be able to sync with an android and carry over playlists. thanks!
I've been using spotify a lot recently, but i'd like to go back to collecting music. I used to use iTunes but i need something that can sync playlists and music easily with my S5. What's a music player i can download on windows that can also sync to a music app on my phone? Preferably something that has a nice looking interface.
What ap do you use to listen to your music library on your android phone? I'm looking for something simple that can play a wide variety of files. I don't need a bunch of extra fluff features, just to be able to access my full library.
IDK if this is a good subreddit to ask this, but I figured pirates are fellow people who don't rely on streaming and have the same wide variety of file types. Thanks
In search of good offline music players. I download songs in m4a, wav and mp3 format.
Care to recommend some everyone???
I don't need a lot of features, I don't use EQ as well. I just want something that easy to use and preferably ad free
