Hello,
So first some background: I live an apartment where using the ceiling lights is not an option for me. So I have installed Govee RGBIC stripes and I have two normal lamps that I already had.
Now I have good light, but the entrance area is always so dark when it get's darker outside. To change that and to brighten up the overall atmosphere I was thinking of putting a Govee Floor Lamp there. Now the question: Does this sound like a good idea and are the Floor Lamps even worth it?
I've seen there is a version two that seems newer. Is the upgrade worth it? I mean it costs 150€...
Thank you for your help! I'll attach pictures below.
Well, I'm thinking about buying it but it seems a bit expensive for what it is. The absence of reviews does not encourage me to purchase
Does anyone have it already? What do you think?
Thank you! 😉✌️

I have a lamp in the corner of my apartment living room that does a pretty good job at lighting the room. It’s a dual bulb lamp utilizing 2x LUMIMAN (800LM/ea) smart bulbs.
The Floor Lamp 2 is 1725LM which at full brightness is already over the brightness of my existing 2 bulbs. However, the Floor Lamp 2 only reflects off the wall.
Thoughts?
I’ve always been a fan of govee. I’ve been using the H60B0 I bought about a month ago, and I really love its triple lighting effects. It adds a romantic, cinematic vibe to my home, love it. It offers a wider variety of lighting options than my previous H6078.
Yeah I ramble, I know.
TLDR: The Govee Cylinder Floor Lamp is an inherently defective design. Don't buy it, but if you do make sure wherever you purchase from gives you the warranty. You will need it.
So this lamp has failed me a total of about 3 times now. The first time it randomly started flashing like a camera flash randomly whenever it was actively "moving" colors around the LEDs. The second time it stayed stuck on one color and never responded to any commands. Not even the one button on the entire lamp. Had to unplug it to turn it off. Then the last replacement failed when 2/3 of the color LEDs just completely died. So now it's just a regular white/cold/warm illumination lamp. After the last time, Govee wouldn't send a replacement so I ended up with a refund, but I bought during the holiday sale so I can't even get another without paying more. I really love the look and features of the lamp, but this entire model is a lemon. Don't get it. My guess is they didn't design it with sufficient cooling so eventually they all die. Perhaps the soldier they used is too weak tow withstand many duty cycles, who knows, but it all comes back to the heat. It does get prettyyy, prettyyyyy, pretty warm. And I don't see how the thing is supposed to cool itself either. No vents of any kind at all, not to even mention active cooling. I think they were hoping the heat would conduct down the entire aluminum post but I don't think it works very well. The entire "bulb" basically acts as an enclosed, doublepane hot air blanket with the clear acrylic outer cylinder acting as the 1st pane and the diffuser cylinder as the 2nd.
Can't even try to repair it as there are literally no diagrams or guides or videos online of anyone doing a teardown. I tried but couldn't get much further beyond removing the 2 outer cylinders. It's a real shame. Now I'm stuck with a 3 semi-functional, wonky floor lamps. One slighly purplish-white lamp that I use a wireless outlet switch to turn off and on. One that works fine aside from just putting out warm/cool/day white light. And one that only gives off a third of the lumens it should. I think that I'll keep them around hoping someone will one day post something somewhere to help me get them working again, or my electronics skills will advance to the point I can do it myself. Cool product, Govee engineers.
But yeah, if you made it this far of my agitated rant, don't buy this product. If you really want it, I'd suggest not running them all the time like I do, or keep the brightness a bit lower. And keep them somewhere relatively cool. Maybe mod it to add active cooling somehow (drill holes at the top maybe? no one would Be able to see them anyway). Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
I’m torn on getting just one and getting a different floor lamp, or two of the floor lamp pros. It’s definitely pricy for two of them, so I’m hoping to hear from other people! Lighting is more important than the speaker.
Hi Everyone! Looking for the resident Govee experts here to give me a quick rundown on the differences between the floor lamp offerings.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I recently purchased two of the Govee Floor Lamp Basic. This is the first smart lighting I've ever had and whilst I have set it up and connected it to the app I feel like I'm a little unsure about what to do next.
I guess I'm a little confused by the app and how to use it properly and I'm looking for some tips and advice from more hardcore users of the app about things I can try to either get that homey feel.
I have one either side of my TV and will add a picture of the setup. I plan to connect it to my Google home device and maybe even connect to my Sky Glass to it all too if I can. However I'm not sure this is even possible.
All advice and beginners tips are welcomed.
Hello r/Govee!
I currently have the Govee RGBIC Floor Lamp 2 by my sofa and love its color sync with my TV. Now I’m looking to add a second floor lamp on the opposite side of the room for more balanced ambient light.
What I’m looking for:
Similar RGBIC color effects and app control
Adjustable height (around 1.5 m)
Voice‑assistant compatibility (Alexa/Google)
No flicker when dimmed
Budget is up to $200. I’d love to hear which Govee model you’d recommend that pairs well with my existing lamp, or any tips on placement. Thanks in advance!
Can’t find a video comparing these two so l'm gonna ask if any of you have these two by any chance and which one do you like the most. The signe being oldest is in the loosing position but what makes up for it is seeing the quality of the gradient in the lights, or so it's what I heard from watching videos on it. If you could give me an unbiased review of the products and l'll pick the best one.
Hello everyone,
Looking into getting into Govee coming from Hue, My question is should I get the floor lamp 2 vs the Lyra . I am mostly interested in warm whites for background. I would consider the pro because it is taller however, I have no use for the speaker... Unless I can add it to a group in Google home and use it that way .
Thank you .
Hey Govee experts! Instead of falling down a YouTube rabbit hole, I figured I’d ask here.
I’m planning on getting one of the two aforementioned lamps, as I really enjoyed the ambiance my Christmas tree lighting created. I just want something that adds that kind of vibe to my living room.
Right now they’re $89 vs. $119 - not a huge price difference. What are your thoughts on the 2 lamps?
I need help deciding between the Govee floor corner lamp or the Lyra lamp. Both seem rather identical. I just need help deciding between the two please and thank you!
Check the Led types I think corner one is rgbicw while Lyra is rgbicww.
Lyra will have specific leds for warm white (the ww part) so it will look more natural, brighter when used as a regular light. The corner light only has the bright white Leds so for warm white it will have use rgb leds to create a warm white effect which doesn't always look good.
Lyra far superior
Sam’s club currently has the floor lamp 2 on sale and I’m thinking about getting it. I already have the OG floor lamp and was wondering if anybody who has had both can comment on the differences and if the upgrade is worth it.
Thanks in advance
