This guy started at 34 and made it to the masl which is a pro league, go start soccer it will take you somewhere I am 18 and I started at 16 look how many years I have ahead of him and I am still working to play in the highest level,so if you ever think your glory days are over it's not.

I think there’s some stuff there that’s missing. When he was talking about fitness and diet, he mentioned he’s been in fitness his whole life and that he talked to gold medal Olympians. Like, that suggests that, even though he was allegedly overweight at the start of his soccer journey, he was probably an athlete in some sport at a fairly high level at some point, and he has connections. (Right? How many gold medalists do you know personally?) So I’m not sure that this is advice for turning pro. In other words, nobody should walk away after seeing this video thinking they can realistically make it to the pro level. But… there’s good general advice for becoming a better player and making friends. (And if the stars line up right, maybe you can get a few chances to connect with the right people. But there’s some luck there.)

Hi. I recently (past couple of months) started watching soccer. And I really enjoy the sport. Especially the premier league. But my problem is that I feel that I never know enough. Every time I go to a bar and people start talking about the players and how the game is played, I feel like they’re speaking a different language. It honestly gets annoying sometimes because i can’t help but feel so stupid. So I just wanted to ask you guys. How do you keep up with soccer news. I know there are apps and YouTube channels but I want to know what the best way is. Any opinions? Any help is appreciated.

I pretty much started following it to have an understanding of it. I had no idea how it worked. I don't really know anyone else that follows it at all, which made learning it a casual hobby that I could pursue at my own pace. I will say there's are 2 things that helped me the most. FIFA video games - Hear me out, I know it's a game, but it got me familiar with the clubs and how the completions worked. Also a loose understand of the rules OneFootball App - This app is a monster when it come soccer. Any team at any level worth paying attention to is on there, along news, stats, schedules, ect... Highly recommended checking it out. For me those two things really built up my base knowledge to a point to where if I started talking to someone who knew a lot about soccer I'm confident I could hold a conversation, other than that if you find yourself talking to people who are genuine die hards of the sport and something goes over your head just tell them your new but are interested and ask them to explain. Most people enjoy sharing their knowledge with people that are interested in the same things as them. Other than that I'd say just keep following it and you'll pick up stuff. Rome wasn't built in a day, so don't beat yourself up too much of it takes you a little longer to pick up some of the finer details of the sport.
