anyone got a rtx 5090 and benched with vs a 4090 with karma and redshift?
about 50 series
What NVIDIA GPU would be better for Redshift? A 4070 Ti? Or a 3090?
New Nvidia generation for rendering

i had seen something on web and i know u had seen samething on web. new 50 series are released and soon go to market. my question is how they good cause 5080 gpu have 10700 cuda core but 4080s have 10250 cuda. is that cuda effect to render? also another question is if we can use upper verison of redshift samply 3.0 or more cause version 3 is key of rtx, again we can use 50 series cards on same software? if that question need big NO from u , please explaine to why cause im using older versions.
So back in 2021, I got two RTX 3090 Graphics Cards for Redshift rendering (and note: I'm talking about REGULAR 3090 cards here, NOT 3090 Ti's).
Unfortunately, one of the 3090 cards died so I sent it back to the reseller.
They've told me they can't repair the card, but would be happy to provide me with a replacement 4070 Ti (as a straight swap) instead.
So I'm wondering... For the purposes of Redshift rendering, would a 4070 Ti card be more powerful? Or would a regular 3090 STILL be the more preferable option?
It's kind of difficult to find what aspects of a GPU make renders faster. For Redshift, all I could find is this site here...
https://support.maxon.net/hc/en-us/articles/1500006456521-Does-Redshift-depend-on-CPU-performance-
And it seems to say that VRAM is the most important thing for rendering? In that case, I wonder if the 3090's 24GB of VRAM would be better than the 4070 Ti's 12GB?
What do you all think?
Hi!
Just like everyone else Iโm curious to see what kind of performance boost the new gen Nvidia cards will provide for rendering. The only benchmark so far is gaming, showing an almost 2x boost in fps in Cyberpunk at 4K (which is insane). But my concern is if that boost is mainly driven by the DLSS 4 tech using ai for higher frame rate.
Basicallt Iโm wondering if anyone has done any deep dive in the specs or has any early hands on experience with these cards and know if the boost for rendering will be as massive as for gaming.
Hi! I'm having trouble getting Redshift to recognize my GPU in Maya 2024. I have an RTX 5070 and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, but Redshift only shows my CPU as a render device.
Here's what Iโve tried so far, with no luck:
-
Installed the latest NVIDIA drivers (tried both Game Ready and Studio).
-
Installed Redshift through Maxon App and also tried reinstalling it.
-
Restarted both my PC and Maya several times.
-
Checked in Render Settings > System, only the CPU shows up.
Could it be that this GPU is not officially supported yet?
Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated ๐
