Google Play denied my refund within 1 hour of purchase and sent me on a wild goose chase

In my experiences with NM on MFF, when people did this in protest of a bad update, they got the refunds but NM also banned their accounts I believe.
I don’t blame anyone for feeling this way - this update sucks hard. Just be cautious if you’re planning on still playing this game in the future.

I spent a crap ton during IroYachiyo banner (beginning of August) and requested refunds from then to now. The play store approved my requests. I suggest you do it too just to get your money back.
Edit: Only purchases made in August will be approved. I tried for earlier ones and they didn't approve them. Overnight, Paypal sent me emails about my refund, so you will be getting your money back

Find the order you want to return.
Select Request a refund or Report a problem and choose the option that describes your situation.
Complete the form and note that you'd like a refund.
I did both 'I no longer what this purchase' and 'Purchase is defective or doesn't work as advertised'

You'll get a message that says "Thank you for sharing your concerns." You'll then get an email with your refund decision. You’ll usually get this within 15 minutes but it can take up to 4 business days.

If you have multiple refund requests, repeat these steps for each thing you bought.
Bought something through an app that didn’t work as expected.
I requested a refund within 1 hour of purchase — well within their official refund window.
It’s now been 5 days, and all I’ve gotten is a circus:
→ Google Play denied the refund, told me to contact the developer
→ Developer said Google handles all refunds
→ Went back to Google with proof, and now they say “contact your bank” if the payment already went through
I haven’t even gone to the bank yet — I’m just exhausted from being passed around like a refund football.
I followed all the right steps, even stayed in the time limit, and they’re still not helping.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Is this how Google Play handles refunds now?
