You should know there is a free app called Remini that uses AI technology to scan your old photos and make them look like they were taken in HD. Here's an image I used.
AI face enhancement/deblur - Remini alternatives?
Remini photo enhancer
Remini App is incredibly mediocre now. Any good alternatives?
I have been using Remini to do enhancements on photographs. The software works very well - but they have significantly increased their costs, the most recent increase - where they slipped in an unannounced price increase to $6.99/week from $4.99/week, and also slipped in a 20 photo/week limit, was too much.
So I was faced with paying $7/week for weeks that I didn't use the service, and then if I wanted to use the service, it comes to $0.35/photo for enhancements? That's not an acceptable plan.
I'm looking for other software or services that are more reasonably priced. Does anyone have anything?
Back 2 years ago I used to use the Remini app for ALL my photos. This one in particular is of my Dad's late cousin. As you can see it's realistic, it's clear, and amazing quality in 2021. After just some basic enhancing, descratch to remove any tears/scratches in the physical photo, increasing of pixelation in photoshop to make the photo easier to read by the AI, and then retro to really bring the photo to life.
However a new update came where they removed literally every single feature about a year ago. Retro was gone, video enhance was gone. I mean I remember there being countless of options to now only just one. They removed saving enhanced pictures to their little history folder. And the AI isn't even as accurate or as realistic as it was before. I used the same effects on the original photo for proper comparison.
Now everything they ask for payment when it used to all be free. There's even watermarks now?? Like what??
I am an amateur photographer and I got asked to take photos at my work for an event.
I made a rookie mistake and didnโt have the correct setting so some photos came out blurry.
I found the Remini app to sharpen the blurry photos, and it is awesome. Maybe too goodโฆ
Professional photographers - do you recommend using this app?
