body temperature sensor?
You're only ever going to be able to measure skin temperature rather than body temperature, unless you keep the sensor in your mouth, ear or rear entrance all the time. AFAIK, skin temperature is fairly useless for what you want to do with it. There are medical-grade temperature sensors that you can swallow, but they last only until your next #2 and I doubt they're available to consumers to be honest. More on reddit.com

Is there a way to monitor the baby's temperature remotely in real-time?
You might have to adapt something- this is not a very usual vital sign to track continuously. Even at the hospital, temperatures are taken manually except in the rare cases of special ICU patients in which case a rectal probe or urethral probe is placed through a catheter. I’ve never seen any external monitoring equipment for this on the medical side. I wonder if you might be able to somehow adjust a basal temperature monitor (like the Tempdrop) that you can somehow find a way to get to stick onto your baby well. I think it might take some ingenuity and a product that isn’t specifically made for babies since it isn’t a vital sign most people are monitoring. Good luck! More on reddit.com

Remote Body Temperature Monitoring: Enhancing Care and Safety
April 8, 2025 - By examining continuous remote monitoring data, providers can clarify each patient’s normal temperature range and customize monitoring thresholds appropriately. This enables more personalized care rather than applying generic norms. Rich temperature data also helps inform individualized treatment plans. This is especially true in sepsis. Sepsis is the body’s extreme response to an infection.

r/homeassistant on Reddit: body temperature sensor?
March 3, 2023 -
not a real HA topic, but is there any good way to track body temperature? In case someone is ill and have fever, do we have decent sensor to measure body temperature? I would like to make a strap on/wearable device (doesn't need to be portable) that could be used in case virus hits someone hard and you stay in the bed. Unfortunately it is easier to make diy ECG than body temp sensor.
Am I stupid? Also... where is a decent point to attach such a device for prolonged period of time? I doubt one want to spend whole day with sensor inside mouth...
Edit: sensor I mean sensor module for DIY sensor for arduino/ESPhome.

My first thought is a watch. You'd need to look at specs and do some research but I hope apps like Google Fit that can track temperature etc have their data in a cloud friendly format. Just checked ... They do have a rest api that could be used.
