r/Bedding on Reddit: Do not buy Rest bedding / Rest is Magic
June 13, 2025 -

Do not buy from this company. It's my fault; I fell for the social media ads.

Their "cooling pillow" came extremely flat and was no colder than my $30 Amazon pillow. Their "cooling sheet" was way hotter than basic sheets I got from Walmart.

Worst part is, to return the items, you need the original box! I called and they said they can't do returns then without the original box. I had to find the original box and pack them that way. They also ask for photo evidence that it was the original box. I took the photos with my iPhone and tried to attach the photos to their portal but it said the files were "too large." What? How do you attach photos then? With a polaroid?

It's clearly a shady and sleazy tactic to stop refunds.

I sent the refund via UPS. 2 weeks later, I did not receive my refund. I emailed them and they said it was successfully returned. It's week 3 and I still haven't received my refund. I emailed them again and said I will dispute the charge. They didn't respond.

The company also has no google reviews and no info on their headquarters. EXTREMELY SHADY AND SLEAZY DO NOT FALL FOR THE ADS!

r/Bedding on Reddit: I'm looking for the best cooling comforter or blanket, but damn I've been running circles around Reddit and Google all morning...

I'm looking for something more cooling, as I get so warm at night. My room is the warmest in the house and I've tested it several degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the living room. I have the vent blowing but it doesn't work well.

Well I have a cotton comforter but it's a bit thick and I'm thinking to swap it out. Every brand I look into seems to have pros and then there is one or several comments with major cons. Here is what I've looked into so far.

Peru Pima: This one flew under the radar and I wasn't able to find much online but the people who had them did love them. I found a few comments saying they lost their softness after a wash and began to pill.

Rest Evercool: This one has tons of controversy, not being cooling, customer service, pilling, etc. At a glance it looks perfect but I'm not inclined to buy based on price and complaints.

Aeptom Eucalyptus Lyocell Comforter: An option I found after some digging but doesn't have much to back it up.

Sijo Clima TempTune Comforter: This comforter seems to fit the bill but there are complaints of returning and customer service being a nightmare.

And then there's a lot of opinions and reviews saying bamboo, but bamboo is really rayon and bad for you, cotton is the way to go, but then that rabbit hole goes deep too :P

Having to weed out who actually enjoys their comforter, and who is a paid ad, damn! What a world we live in. I feel bad for those who are less internet-savvy.

Can anyone recommend a cooling comforter or blanket that is high quality and not super thick? (if it's thick but cooling that's fine [I'm looking for something to keep me cool]).

TLDR: I can't find a good cooling comforter. Can anyone recommend or do you have any reviews based on the brands I mentioned?

I’m looking for a thin filled comforter not a duvet insert. I don’t want any hoops. As close to All organic materials as I can get (outside and fill). Preferably bamboo but not opposed to other organic materials as long as it’s cooling. Solid gray color preferably dark gray. I don’t mind stitching patterns but would prefer if it isn’t a busy stitching design. My budget is around $100 no more than $200.

I’ve been trying to find one myself but they either are not gray, duvet inserts, or used polyester.

Thanks in advance for your assistance

r/Bedding on Reddit: There is no magic in Rest Comforter and Pillowcases

Rest's customer service is inadequate. It took a week to receive a response, and I had to call them repeatedly to obtain a return authorization.

Before making a purchase, it's important to thoroughly read Rest's return policy. Returns can be complicated and often come with strict instructions. If these instructions are not followed, you may not receive a full refund.

I learned this the hard way. I should have kept the "free" pillowcases, as they deducted the full amount of $59.00 plus tax from my purchase total, even though I never opened the box or used them.

Unfortunately, the comforter did not provide the cool comfort it advertised, which prompted me to initiate the return. I do not recommend either the comforter or the pillowcases.

r/Bedding on Reddit: Rest Evercool vs Buffy - my opinions after buying both.
October 7, 2025 -

Okay I finally bit the bullet this year and just forked over to try both for the summer. After having a set of lyocell sheets I loved in the past for their cool smooth feel, I wanted to see what these two hyped brands were like. (You can view my reddit history, I'm just a random person who likes medium fancy bedding, not sponsored or anything). I had shopped for like a year, watching sale prices, and read reviews and thought about what to try since last summer!

I bought sheet set, comforter (well rest is just a thin blanket), pillow cases from both compankes. I also got the buffy duvet cover for their comforter.

I got the pink stripe from Buffy and love the look. I got reversible aqua blue color set from Rest.

Additionally, I got a set of Quince bamboo tencel type sheet and duvet cover set to use when my others were in the wash, and to compare.

So the comparison:

Buffy is similar to other lyocell sheet sets I have had but just a touch beefier, less floppy, more body almost like a (soft) percale. Compared to the quince bamboo they look nicer on the bed because less thin. The sizing esp of the duvet cover for their own comforter is really stupid, it doesn't fit right and there is an extra foot of space. This is a pet peeve for me. Especially at this price. I did find them slightly cooling and comfy, and they were my favorite all summer of all the sheets I have. Held up well in the wash so far, little or no pilling or snags, used oxy concentrate to get out some stains and worked well.

Rest is more like a technical silky icey cooling totally synthetic fabric. They feel really really different. They actually are so slippery the comforter slides off the side of the bed during the night (not great). Constantly having a silky cool place to move my leg or hand was delightful however. They really helped mitigate my friends night sweats too so he slept better. Really stretchy. You can see the silver lines in the weave too which is interesting. Pretty color, and held up through several washing so far. I am worried how the blanket will hold up to frequent washing since putting a cover on it negates most of the cooling, its right on skin to work. I don't think I would bother with a top sheet since these slide all over and slip off bc of the fabric. Just bottom sheet pillow cases and rest blanket. I don't see snags or pilling yet after a few months in rotation.

Okay I had wondered about comparing these for years, so I thought I'd share for the next person!

I absolutely hate these sheets, they do NOT cool as advertised and in fact I find them quite hot for our Arizona climate. the top sheet will not stay in place slips right off the bed, the bottom sheet is a snug fit and I could probably stand to use it as I paid an arm and a leg for the set, I mean, what are you going to do with them? company won’t take them back even though I just received a couple of weeks ago because I got rid of the Boxes. Perfect right? marketing is aggressive so buyer beware…..

r/Bedding on Reddit: Hot sleeper help
May 3, 2024 -

Hi,

My husband is an extremely hot sleeper. He’ll wake up sweaty at night, or move around so much trying to cool off that he ends up waking me up. The last 2 weeks I’ve been consistently waking up around 2-3AM, due to his moving around. After that, I’m wide awake the rest of the day. I’m slowly losing it. I used to love sleeping, I looked forward to going to bed. Now, it’s starting to give me anxiety.

Main question: What materials are the best for super hot sleepers? Ideally, I’d be looking for a sheet set, and comforter.

In addition to sheets, I’m curious if there’s other things / methods I can buy / try to help him stay cooled off at night. I came across something called a BedJet, which, from what I’ve seen, blows cool/warm air under the fitted sheet? Not sure if that’d be worth a try.

I’ll buy anything at this point, I just want to be able to sleep through the night again. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Edit:

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and ideas! You all taught me something new, so I really appreciate that.

I purchased the following :

Percale sheet set from Brooklinen

Rest, Evercool cooling comforter

I’ll probably be coughing out money for the BedJet system, first I want to see how we do with this change. The sleep eight system someone mentioned was nuts, but way out of my budget. Maybe something for the far future…

I’ll update if I remember to on how we’re doing!

Update 8/16/24

My husband did have sleep apnea, and he now has a neat little machine that pushes air in when it senses resistance while he’s sleeping. Thanks to all of you who suggested it!! ❤️❤️❤️

As for Rest: it’s probably my favorite comforter I have ever had, so far. It cools me off really quickly, but I don’t get cold sleeping with it. My husband has had less night sweats (probably thanks to the machine + better sheets). It’s buttery smooth and I really like the way it feels on my skin, so much so, that while it rest on me over a thin sheet, I end up kicking the sheet off in my sleep so I’m sleeping with just the comforter. I’ve washed it a few times following the directions, no issues with it so far. I do have to tuck it into the bed at the end, because we both move around a ton in our sleep and because it’s so smooth, it can fall off. But tucking it in has helped keep it in place and I have no issues there.

As for Brooklinen sheets: they’re great! They still kind of sound a little papery, but they’re very thin and easy to launder. I have 2 sets and I’m quite happy with them.

Anxiety around sleeping is now gone :)

r/Bedding on Reddit: Don't buy REST Sheet Sets - no sheet included
July 17, 2025 -

The screenshots give all the details you need.

Basically, my fiancé and I finally decided to buy some nice bedding and so we got a comforter and a "sheet set" from rest.com. They had some really good reviews, especially people on Reddit saying it was great. They even threw in some free pillowcases, which seemed nice given the price tag being almost $400. Everything arrived today and we took it all apart and it turns out there's no sheet included with the sheet set. Somehow a starter sheet that doesn't include a sheet. I can't believe it. I've spent 30 minutes with their child support, trying to get somebody to just mail me a sheet so I don't have to box all this stuff back up and pay a $10 return fee for something that was falsely advertised as a set, which actually doesn't include any sheets. Just the thing that goes on the mattress which I guess is a sheet, but not a set of sheets.

r/Bedding on Reddit: Hot Sleepers - Help Me Choose Between These Cooling Comforters!
August 8, 2025 -

Hey fellow furnaces of the night! I'm on the hunt for a legit cooling comforter that won't turn into a sweat trap by 2 AM. I've narrowed it down to two options but could use real-user experiences before pulling the trigger.

Option 1: Bedsure Cooling Comforter

  • Claims to use "3D airflow technology"

  • Bamboo-derived rayon cover

  • Medium weight (good for year-round use?)

Option 2: Evercool Comforter

  • Specifically markets to menopausal women (I'm not one, but if it works...)

  • "Phase-change" cooling fibers

  • Lightweight design

About me:

  • Sleep HOT (like, wake-up-drenched hot)

  • Mostly a side sleeper

  • Prefer something that doesn't feel plasticky

  • Need machine-washable

Searching for a cooling comforter that doesn’t trap in heat at night when I sleep. We run the apt ac temp low and have a fan going at night. I still get really hot at night and my comforter doesn’t help. Any recommendations?

How would you read the advertisement at the top of the page ? I thought it meant you spend 399 and you get the free pillowcases AND the free flat sheet but apparently not, it’s either or. Ended up cancelling my order because I thought this was really shady and misleading advertisement.

Best Cooling Comforter for Hot Sleepers - Reddit
We have an old house with radiator heat and the temp can fluctuate a lot through the night. This comforter works perfectly to keep us warm enough when necessary, but never so heat trapped that we're sweating. ... Update: I ended up going with Rest sheets and a Rest comforter (paid link).
