What are people saying about restaurants in Roanoke, VA?
"What a great gastropub. I stoped in for lunch. The decor is great. It was cold outside, but the interior Christmas decor and music warmed me right up. The service was excellent. Great recommendations and appropriately attentive. I ordered the warm spinach salad: delicious and large. The dressing was amazing. I had the Steakhouse Burger. A great burger!!! Thank you."

I'm reading this in Sheetz on Peters Creek waiting for food, send help.
More on reddit.comRoanoke has a great food scene.
I put together a list of all the places that my wife and I have both really liked and have been to more than once. I figured it might be helpful for all the people who come to the board looking for places to try. All places are either in Roanoke City, Roanoke Country, or Vinton.
I'm vegetarian, so all of these places have at least a few vegetarian options.

Had horrible service and two restaurants last night and only got food at one. Food was mediocre.
Give me good solid food suggestions. These can range anywhere from hole in the wall to luxury fine dining. I just want to have options.
Places I’ve always enjoyed: city corner, the bahn mi place (name is escaping me right now), village grill, bubbas, Billie’s and Taaza. Frankie’s was on this list until they absolutely incinerated a steak twice and I haven’t been back since.
I’m sure other great food exists in this city and I don’t want to have to go to a chain like Olive Garden for consistent (if subpar) food on a random Tuesday night.
ETA: thanks for the suggestions. We love Sakura and are glad it’s back.
I will have to give Our Daily Bread another try. My first and last time there, I got the most bland bagel ever and I haven’t been back.
I know Roanoke has some sort of "elevated" dining experiences where you'd need a reservation and things are going to be pricier, but what are your favorite places in Roanoke where you can get a good meal that's not at a "once in a while" sort of price?
