I Take multiple medications, two of them are considered a controlled substance. My doctor faxed the new scripts in before Christmas as my meds refill was Christmas day. I called ahead explained my situation they said they would have it ready for Boxing day and she assured me they have all those medications in stock. One of these medications is something i am not supposed to have any gaps in when i take these.
Boxing day rolls around they have not gotten to my prescription yet. Pharmacist says they are short handed and he promises to have it done later that afternoon and to wait for a text for it being ready for pick up.
Boxing day evening, no response turns out the pharmacy closes at 6pm. I call the 27th they say they need to order all of my medication as my script has not even been done yet, and earliest it will come is the 28th. When i explained they said they had it less than a week ago, she says she doesn't know anything about that.
I call today and was told they are yet again short handed and that they cannot help me, Pharmacist says that i am "wasting his time" and to wait for a pickup message. He then says I should to expect my prescription to be filled in early January, or If my prescription is an emergency i need to go to the ER. Before hanging up on me.
My GP's office is closed for the holidays, i just feel lost. Is it worth it to go down there and see?
Update Went in person, and asked to have them transfer my prescription to a different pharmacy, person working there said it was a controlled substance and required my doctors approval to transfer it. Then asked why i needed it transferred, i explained the situation and asked if she could fill them.
Took 10 minutes and she gave me 7 days of each and told me the rest would be filled when they have time. Why is this so hard?
