You would use something like an "add a fuse" to wire it in the interior fuse box. Red goes to a fuse thats on whenever the ignition is on, black goes to practically any chassis point to ground it (the entire chassis is on battery minus). Any local auto parts store should have the thing you need, just beware of the different sizes (look into your fuse box first). For a small load like the LED strip you will want the smallest possible fuse for it, so make sure it either comes with the add a fuse kit or you get one additionally. 1 ampere fuses are rare, but that would be the safest option for you. When installing, be prepared to take off some trim panels to hide your wires. There should be tutorials on YT for your car, maybe even exactly for what you're going to do. More on reddit.com

So going off this post you don't want to hard wire them to your battery which means you have three options. One, you can get battery powered ones. Two, you can plug them into a car charger which means it would be visible. Or three, make the outlet look cool so you don't notice that it is powering your lights. Go with battery. They even how some that have mics so they go with the music.

You also need a constant on as you want the light to go on and off with whatever trigger source you choose ie dome lights, trunk, ect. The first thing you need to do is to run your power wire to the location you need from the fuse box under the steering wheel. Using a low profile add a fuse tap a constant on source (Both #19 and #20 were open and constant on in my car).

Hi, I am new to this, and I am unsure what to do with these lights as I thought they would have come with a cigarette lighter adapter or a usb, but did not. How would I wire these into my car, or what external power supplies could I use?
It is a LED strip light, but does not have any adapters and only has a red and black wire sticking out of it. I am new to this, and would appreciate any help! The specifications say 12V/0.5A.

Hi everyone, these lights look great in my car. My only complaint is the red-green-blue flash they do every time the car is started before returning to my previous color. The cycle is on max brightness and looks cheap/gaudy if you're looking for a more subtle setup - most of the time I just leave them on a single static color. I'd love to be able to have them go straight back to my selected color, or even just boot at a neutral white. Is there a way to disable this through the app or the lights themselves? If not, is this something that would be possible though a future update? I'm very impressed by Govee's support so far reading through the forum on the app and I hope they would consider this change.

Might have figured it out, I'm not using govee but I had the exact same thing with offbrand ones. The hardware looks the same with same startup problem. Try the magic car light app, it has a disable start animation setting
