The RhinoShield SolidSuit is a premium quality protective case that offers great protection and impact resistance due to its shock absorbent design.
Full review:
After unboxing and inspection of the RhinoShield SolidSuit, I first noticed the honeycomb shock absorption structure inside the case and which is quite impressive. You almost get the thought of “sure, I could drop my $800+ phone in this sucker, no problem” thought in your mind. The material is made of a “NEXT GEN MATERIAL” which is a unique polymer by RhinoShield. It’s hard to explain but the case is very sturdy and rigid around the outside, yet still flexible to bend and twist. The carbon fiber design (yes, design, not real fiber) looks really nice, although I wish it was a real fiber weave and perhaps wrapped all the way around the case rather than just the back panel – I’m being picky here.
Installing the case is fairly simple but requires a proper sequence of buttons first. As I stated before, the case is a bit pliable, but once the phone is snapped into place is seems as though the phone is wrapped in a solid piece of thick polymer material – it is VERY solid and protected. It fits so precisely and is so well protected that it actually takes a bit of maneuvering to pull the phone out of the case.
One of the things I've heard many other reviewers and users comment on are the buttons and RhinoShield engineers focused well in this area. The button operations themselves are GREAT. They are very responsive and “clicky” almost like a physical keyboard. RhinoShield also offers customizable buttons that you can switch out for different design and color combinations which is a unique and neat feature.
On the screen side perimeter of the case there is a very nice raised lip that offers good screen protection and ability to lay flat on a table - which is something I do often so I was quite pleased with. The lip is thick enough to offer to still allow a tempered glass screen protector and have space, yet it is not high enough to interfere with swiping across the screen and daily use. The case has precision cutouts for the speakers, charging ports, and mute rocker that are perfectly placed and allow for easy operation while still offering above average protection.
Around the back, the cameras are protected very well by a deep channel. This easily allows you to lay the phone down without any concern at all. The rear camera protection would certainly help avoid damage during a flat rear drop, but I did not test that voluntarily myself. The carbon fiber design pattern on the back looks nice and seems that the polymer material should avoid scuffing and scratching well.
Overall the case felt very nice in the hand once installed. For as much protection as the case offers I was surprised at how thin it felt to me and the fact that it really did not add too much bulkiness to the phone, IMO. I really liked the case for many of the aforementioned aspects, but after a few minutes of use on my phone I quickly noticed just how slick the case felt. In one-handed operation the case slid right out of my hand with ease. When holding in both hands it was much better to control but I still felt that the material was almost encouraging drops. I honestly wasn’t trying to be overly sensitive to this but every time I picked up my phone during the day I had the RhinoShield installed, I was quickly reminded of my displeasure with the feel of it. As much as I wanted to love the RhinoShield SolidSuit, I ended up returning it for another case.

Pros:
-
Premium materials used with above average fitment.
-
Buttons are superb to any other case I have used. Very responsive and able to customize
-
Would not hesitate to drop my phone in the RhinoShield – feels very well protected.
Cons:
-
Case material is far too slippery.
-
Not real carbon fiber
Other cases I’ve compared against so far:
-
Tasikar Carbon Fiber (A great case at a budget price! Not as much shock absorbant technology as the RhinoShield but offers decent protection all around. I am using this as an alternate case)
-
Incipio Dual Layer (Very nice fitment and above average protection. Interstingly, the material on this case was also very slick but not as slick as the RhinoShield. Also it is not available in Carbon Fiber)
-
Pitaka Magcase - This version I use is a minimalist design so not really a fair comparison for the RhinoShield SolidSuit but I LOVE this product. (My case my review here: iPhone 11 Pitaka Aramid Fiber Review )
Slippery is all I needed to read. Same thing every model. And they have a lot of complaints about that and they keep it the same
Looks nice! But I have to wonder, doesn’t a black case for an iPhone 11 defeat the purpose of getting a colored one (like blue, yellow etc)? I got a clear case for my 11 Pro Max because the color is so nice. Btw that’s just a general question not about you particularly
Hi !
I have an Iphone 13 Pro Max, my case is in really bad condition so I want to change it to one who would be as resistant and with magsafe in case I need it in the future.
Rhinoshield cases can be expensive so I would like to hear yall opinion.
If you have other cases which are great deals I'm open to hear what you can propose to me, I'd like to be able to get it for Christmas by the way.
I asked about mous’ quality here some weeks ago, and I eventually bought a case from them and rhinoshield for my iPhone 13 recently. Here’s my experience with them:
Mous: I ordered the limitless 4.0 in the speckled fabric design with a strap. I didn’t really like the feel. It was too slippery, but the strap definitely helped me in handling it.
My phone never fell down while using it so I can’t really say how protective it is. It’s quite thick and sturdy so I can imagine it would do a good job.
Rhinoshield: I ordered a rhinoshield transparent case cause I really wanted the grip max, and it felt wrong to get one without a case. And also because they had AOT designs.
The case is soooo grippy and thick - I’ve never handled a transparent case like this before. The grip max also makes handling a dream, so I doubt I’ll be going back to my mous case. It’s quite big so if your phone is small, you can just get the mini.
My phone fell face down some days ago and no scratches or anything. I have a screen protector too, so it definitely helped matters.
Posting this cause before I bought a rhinoshield case, I saw many comments on how they were slippery and all that. But mine feels pretty amazing. It all boils down to preference, but if you can afford it, I’d recommend buying different cases to see the one you’d like best.
I wanted to try out Casetify, but they don’t deliver to my country sadly.
