I’m 100% on this desire train! Ryobi tends to have the most variety of any battery system I’ve seen, and when Ridgid does follow along they are years later. If I could find the tool only for Ryobi I’d buy it and get a Ridgid battery adapter. More on reddit.com

July 17, 2022My experience with my Ridgid Wet/Dry Vac
I had the exact same thing happen to my Rigid vac. There is a thermal fuse that burns out, buried in the motor coils, which you can replace yourself for a few bucks. It seems like a problem that they could have easily eliminated with a better cooling design on the motor.
I'm glad they just took care of it for you, though. The small text on the "lifetime" warranty card usually says that it is void unless you register within 30 days of purchase, which requires submitting a receipt and the tool serial number.

So I am looking to get the HD0318 cordless 3 gallon vacuum to use for quick clean up around my garage work area and vacuum my truck. Is it worth it? We have a corded shopvac that I currently use, but having a cordless one would make it easier as long as it is worth it.

I absolutely love mine and I'm shocked at how powerful it is. I haven't used my corded Shop-Vac since I bought this one. Don't hesitate buy it today.

I love my 18v shopvac. I highly recommend. I use it almost daily for work (hvac install and service). The only issue I had was when I gave it to my helper sans filter... but I learned it is super simple to disassemble for thorough cleaning. The hose also stretches to almost 6 ft, and the sweep feature is pretty neat, too, and gets used a lot. It is frowned upon, but I also use it as a seat (or a step in a pinch). Dirty filter wrecks battery life, but I get 10-15 minutes of full suck out of a fresh 4 amp max battery. I tell customers that it's the single greatest power tool I've invested in that isn't a drill/driver.

I’ve been eyeing the new Ryobi 1 gal shop vac largely because of its size. Everything else basically seems toolbox/toolcase 3gallon size which I simply don’t want need.
Ridgid seems to create their version of most Ryobi products - wondering if anyone happens to know if a cordless 1/2 gal shop vac might be on the horizon?

I’m interested as well. Just got the 3 gallon Ridgid 18v. It’s a bit large for my taste. But it’s cordless so I’m happy. Would prefer a tad smaller.
