Replacing craftsman 18hp I think 44 inch cut 32 years old
Looking to purchase at least a 42inch riding mower for under $1000, ideally with a bagger. I know I'll probably only find something like that used, and have so far been looking at Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
Is there any other resource you guys recommend or things I should be looking for/avoiding?
EDIT: Why am I getting downvoted for this? I'm expecting this to be used and budget...I'm just asking where I should be looking.
I’ve asked ChatGPT, googled it and looked around (maybe someone can link to this question being answered).
I’ve got $2,500 and I am looking for the best riding mower for just under 1 acre. My land is mostly flat, with some roots and bumps.
I don’t need the most perfect cut, I need the most dependable, longest lasting, and best value for my money.
Most everything I read points to a John Deere S110. But then I hear all I’m buying is a name.
Please help. Thanks.
Pictures are what I’m looking at.
If you have a suggestion for brand and mower type (or ones to avoid) please let me know.
Out of the posted options, what is your suggestion or which should I avoid?
Doing a lawn-care business for the second year now. I have a partner and we have about $1000 for a mower that we think is reasonable to invest in the company without it being too high risk. I've seen a few on Facebook used saying great condition for about 5, 6, 7, 800 bucks. Are these too good to be true? Should i take one of these? If so any tips? Or should I just go with a self-propelled push mower with a wider deck? Trying to find the best option here where I won't be out a bunch of money and a mower.
Is it too early? Do they Discount?
I’m looking for a 42″ riding mower or zero-turn in the $1,500–$3,000 range. Hoping to catch an end-of-season clearance at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Tractor Supply, or local dealers.
If you see any, please share the model, I will do the same.
Hi all!!! Its about that time when stores start to clearance summer items. I looked around last year but I couldn't find any retailers offering any significant clearance prices on mowers. Sears had discounts, but that seemed to bring their prices just a tad under the regular retail price of similar items in other stores. Lowes dropped the prices of their cheaper mowers by about $100.
My mower is going south, quickly, and I think I'll need to get one pretty soon.
soooo.... where should I look? I'm looking for a 46-48 inch cut, and zero-turn isn't out of the question.
EDIT : adding more info -- yard is about an acre, not very slopped and very irregular with all kinds of garden features throughout.
