You really only “want” invest in them when most of the risk is past and thats when the price is already high. Lots of research. ASTS popped up on reddit for me and I dug A LOT. I fish in some pretty remote areas in the US do having satellite coverage while using my regular mobile phone made me super interested in it. So I bought, held and will continue to hold.

The fact that you only focus on launch business which is not even 20% of RL‘s main business shows everything wrong with your research. Their focus is on Space Systems (i.e. satellite components) and that segment just got an order for 816 million USD from the US government. Focussing only on launch is a mistake many people make and it is not the core investment thesis behind Rocket Lab. Vertical integration and having access to space in house is. But you sound very prejudiced so I guess that won‘t change your opinion. And lastly, Rocket Lab is not in direct competition with SpaceX, they serve very different market segments. Might change with Neutron online, but most of the ~2 billion in backlog is for satellites, not launches More on reddit.com

Rocket Lab und ASTS. They both make 80% of my portfolio because I believe in them so much. ASTS could grow really well and has good technology, but their management over promises and I don’t really see 20 BlueBirds up till the end of the year but I love to be proven wrong. I will hold my shares and wait. In the long run there is much money to be made. Rocket Lab has much greater management and their CEO is a one in a million. Their company portfolio is greatly diversified and their Neutron project will bring this company into new heights. For me it doesn’t matter if Neutron flies end of this year or Q1 2026.
