A couple things to note: Rocky Mountain doesn't always bill on 30-day billing cycles. They'll bill according to either when somebody physically reads the meter, or do estimates and then just read the meter quarterly. So you may see a 40-day billing cycle followed by a 20-day billing cycle depending on when weekends fall and when they rolled trucks to read meters. You're in a duplex. Go out back and make sure there are two meters back there and that both are spinning. If it's an older home, it could be a single meter and you're paying both the bills. AC, followed by appliance efficiency, are going to be the key metrics here. RM bills in arrears - so the bill you got recently may have been for a use cycle that ended two-three weeks ago. Go on Amazon and get a kill-a-watt meter. Use it on each of your major appliances for a day. and figure out what they're using. Chances are, you've got a relatively inefficient AC unit and some appliances that are dated. If you're using any device solely to generate heat (space heater, oven, grow lamps) frequently, those will absolutely murder your electric bill in the summer, as you're paying for that heat 3 times over - once to generate it (the space heater), again to remove it (the AC), and again for the inefficiencies in the removal (waste heat from the AC).
