Hi, I'm looking to reinstall Windows 11 Pro on my PC following a disk crash.
As soon as I launch the installation, it asks me to provide it with an additional driver.
I took out the CD that came with the motherboard from my cabinet, I consulted all its directories to find a driver allowing me to continue my installation, unfortunately without success.
I manually downloaded all the latest drivers available, but again the installer cannot find the driver that Windows needs to be able to continue the installation ??
Usually it's the disk controllers that are the problem, but my motherboard is 3 years old and it should have been integrated into Windows a long time ago !!
Today when you want to upgrade from one version of Windows 11 to a new one, it wants you to update all your drivers otherwise it blocks, and when you need to reinstall Windows it no longer works at all ;-(
Regards.
Basically I downloaded the official driver from Asus and they don't work. Drivers are installed fine but no sound coming from the speaker or headphone outputs. Funny enough the optical line works. This is why i noticed the issue some month after i got my pc.
If I remove the official driver, the MS uses default driver and then the speakers work. Now I see Realtek drivers from Microsoft got installed. These work too. But then I cant use any of the Realtek software.
Here's official driver i use "Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.8960.1 for Windows 10 64-bit. "

This is such a pain with windows messing with drivers. As a user I never know what to install and not to install + what will work.
I do like to use Realtek application but now i cant. Without installing the whole official installation the program just spinns
And after a long time its RPC timeout....
So When will Asus update the drivers to work again in Win10 and soon Win11?
Checking Realtek directly i cant find much but on internet i did find some other versions like realtek_hda_9183 and realtek_hda_9071 but neither is working. all have the same issue described above.
