Not sure it will help your specific situation but will share it anyway. After having terrible experiences with AI suite, Armoury crate and basically all the ASUS software I pretty much avoided them on my current build (dark hero/5950x). I've updated the bios twice (3204 and now the latest one) through the utility in the bios menu on a usb. Haven't had any issues so far. Its sad that ASUS software always kinda works in the beginning but eventually stops working and your left with dead software laying around that requires too much effort to try get to work again. Just in case anyone was thinking of upgrading their am4 crosshair viii dark hero board to bios 4805 that released a few days ago, it breaks the ability to control the board LEDs such that ‘off’, ‘black’, ‘dark’, etc. is bright green. Breaks any aura designs you have that include the board. A few stock ones work but almost everything resolves to static bright green.
I downgraded back to 4702 and the issue was completely resolved. Just wanted to post it because I didn’t see anyone else who struggles with obsessive compulsive tendencies post about it on any of the boards I read.

Thanks for your replies! I've done the BIOS flashing before with a usb stick (still have it) through the BIOS.
With the laggy bios it ain't going to be very fun. Might be why when I first built this it was a frustrating experience for stability.
By laggy do you mean the mouse pointer?
I just use keyboard to navigate around...arrows up/down/left/right work perfectly and usually pretty speedy...with my Asus B550 board.
You might also reset CMOS before going into the in-BIOS update utility. It might help with everything in full defaults. And lastly simply try different USB ports.

Hi Everyone,
Hoping someone can assist and advise why I am getting the following error.
I wanted to update my BIOS to the latest version, currently it is the same as when I received it (v.2503). EZ Update shows no available updates if I use AI Suite 3. I have downloaded the BIOS update from the website and tried to do a manual option, which tells me the BIOS image doesn't match my current motherboard. Considering the Dark Hero doesn't have a non wi-fi variant I am not aware of any other image available.
I don't want to attempt the old fashioned way via usb until I am sure it won't cause issues. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem with the Dark Hero?

Hi all asus master people, i was asking myself if it is worth it upgrade from bios version 3601 to 4201, and if it is worth should i go by step or can i safely upgrade directly to the latest with no issue? I'm not having particolar problem at the moment with the 3601 just some freeze sometime that i don't even know if they come from the mobo firmware at all.
