Hey, i just installed my new Intel I5 11600k and Asus maximus XII formula today and I'm getting cpu code 00 and no outputs at all.
My previous build was: intel i5 9400f Asrock phantom gaming 4 mobo Asus tuff 3070 gpu Asus 850w gold pau Ripjaws v 2666mhz ram 2x8gb A sata 6 boot drive of some sort Firecuda m.2 ssd drive for storage A maelstrom 120T aio
All parts are the same except the mobo and cpu
I don't have another lga 1200 socket or mobo to test on and all other parts worked fine with 0 issues for the past 9 months.
You probably need to flash a newer BIOS onto the board. You can find info on how to do that on the Asus product page for it:
https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-xii-formula-model/
https://rog.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1043948
Please just read up on error codes for the board before doing stuff you dont need.
EDIT - PROBLEM SOLVED. CPU FAN Header from the AIO was incorrectly connected. Now connected to correct socket and system boots

Just finished assembling the system, hit the power button for the first time and the in-system LCD display screen flicks through a bunch of codes, Memory and CPU codes, then gets to "CPU CODE 00" before changing to "CPU CHECK CPU" and then restarting the system. This loops over and over. I saw it happen 4 times in a row before I shut the system down. The Q-Code display in the top right corner of the Motherboard displays "00" which, upon checking the user manual for the motherboard is listed as "Not Used" which is of very little help.
List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem.
Removed the CPU Cooler block, removed the CPU and re-seated it in the socket, then reinstalled the Cooler block. Problem persists. Double-checked the cpu power is connected (it is, using the 8pin socket, the other 4pin socket is currently NOT plugged in, but I tried to boot with it connected as well as the 8pin and got the same results)
Have looked on the ROG forums, the Overclockers Forums and here on Reddit, I found 1 post where someone was having the same issues, but the thread stopped after only a few comments. I have commented to ask the OP if they found a solution. No response as of yet.
Post relevant photos of build/parts here.

Hi! Not really about your issue which has already been solved..
I about to purchase my rams sticks but I cant find it on the QVL list... I can find the 2x8gb 4000 cl17 but can't find the 4x8gb 4000 cl17 so I am concerned if I will have any issues...
Btw I can find a 4x8gb kit 4000 cl15 on the QVL....
Did you have any problem to run your 4x8gb memories at 4000 cl17 (XMP profile) ?
F4-4000C17Q-32GTRSB is the kit I am looking for...
Pc has been fully working for over a year but recently had a major problem and unable to post at all or get to the bios, getting Q-code of 00,08,04,7F,08,14,00 in a loop have no idea what is causing the problem, don’t know wether it’s cpu, mobo or PSU related
My specs are: 12900k, 64gb (4 sticks) ddr5 6200mhz, z690 formula mobo, asus strix 4090, Corsair 1000w psu, full custom water loop, 3 x 4Tb NVMe drives, full custom cables (cablemod)
Have recently purchased a new cpu and a psu but haven’t installed yet as worried might damage new cpu if problem with mobo
I’ve tried the flashback button, tried swapping out ram and changing positions of ram sticks
Had one glimmer of hope earlier turned the machine on after being unplugged for 24 hours it posted to windows then crashed and stuck in booting/post loop that mentioned codes earlier for.
I’m the manual for the mobo in the section of Q-codes 00 says not used so puzzling why that’s the code that’s is coming up
Anyone have any ideas what to try?? Really not wanting to have to purchase another of the mobo as only place has stock is the USA Amazon website, and I’m in the UK, the import duty will be colossal
Please if anyone can help please message many thanks
Hello, For nearly a year I've been receiving error code "00" on my Asus motherboard. No POST happens a lot of times but after turning it off and on for a couple of times(Sometimes just leaving it off for a few hours and then turning it on again) it will again continue to work normally. During the time when "No POST" happens, I've tried removing RAM sticks and I received the same code.
I've also taken my computer twice to the repair shop. These people did the same thing I did. They checked with different RAM (Same Code-00), then they changed the PSU (Same Code-00). And then they say its a motherboard problem and they need to mess with ICs else my computer won't turn on. Another person said my motherboard is dead and I should buy a new mobo instead.
I usually just take the PC back because I know that if I leave it off for a few hours, it ends up working fine(Most of the time it turns on with just a few attempts).
May I know what should I do to fix the 00 error so my computer works fine always?
Things I have tried:
Resetting the BIOS. Works for a day and then it goes back to Code-00 and after 4-5 attempts of powering On and Off it works fine.
Leaving the system on for 10 or so minutes and then retrying (It works most of the time this way). Saw this on a youtube comment once since a lot of people seem to be getting this 00 error. The explanation which the user gave was that the processor needs a bit of warmth. (But again sometimes it doesn't work).
Clearing CMOS and Removing the Battery (This worked the first time I faced the 00 Error. It worked for a few months and when Error-00 appeared again, I tried this method but it didn't work)
Keep in mind, when my computer works it works perfectly. I even tried doing the stress test on CPU-Z and it worked fine. Could it be some major problem still?
