This costco exclusive piano has barely any information out there, and some misinformation, which frustrated me when I was looking to purchase it, so ask me any questions and I’ll answer!
One thing I’ll say here, though, is that the piano DOES have the piano designer feature directly in the Roland app.
I just got Costco’s new Roland RFP-Nuvola bundle. It does seem like a variation of the FP-30X, with subtle cosmetic variations and small internal differences e.g. a slightly different song/sound list and upgraded Bluetooth (v5.0). I recommend comparing the user manuals on Roland’s website to see the details.
I think the stand and pedal bar look great! Note that the bundle’s bench does not have storage.
Wish me luck — starting lessons this week!
Why should I buy FP30x when costco gives an amazing bundle for same price? Or if i wait out, even a better price?
I just had a chance to try this the other day in Costco. For $699 you get the keyboard, a stand, 3-pedal setup, and a bench. The action is like the FP-10, 30X, and 60X, all of which use the same action, which is not bad. The keyboard itself is like an amped up FP-10. The speakers are not great, but if you use headphones or an external amplifier it doesn't matter. If you buy an FP-10 for $500 it will have a garbage pedal which will cost $60 to replace, and you still need a stand and bench.
IMHO this is really the rock bottom, solid entry point for a beginner keyboard. If you can afford an acoustic do that, but if you can't this is a very reasonable starting point.
Folks, is the nuvola that costco sell better than FP30X? Is it of lower quality by any chance? Why costco sells it as a separate package than roland?
I have an $800 budget. The Costco Roland FPR is $729. It comes with furniture stand and the three pedals attached and bench which is nice. I’m also looking at a used Yamaha p143. It is $300 and comes with a gig stand. I currently have a Casio CDR that but the dust. I don’t like my little pedal on a wire that moves around all the time so that is what’s gravitating me more towards the Roland. Ive also heard the keys are better. I don’t mind spending the whole budget on the Roland if it’s a significant improvement over the Yamaha, but if it’s not that huge of a difference then I think the Yamaha would be ok too and I’d save some money. But I’d love some advice or opinions on which you would choose.
I'm looking for advice on how the Nuvola really compares to the FP-30X ?
I'm purchasing a digital piano as a complete newbie wanting to learn classical piano.
In the future I am interested in also using the digital piano via midi with computer software.
I looked at the NUVOLA in Costco yesterday, nice that it includes everything including stand with pedals.
Does it really support all that the FP-30X does in terms of MIDI control etc?
I found the stand to be a little unsteady.
In comparison I was looking at this FP-30X combo for $759
FP-30X along with the Liquid Stands Portable Heavy Duty Digital Piano Stand & Bench Set - Adjustable Keyboard Music Stand & Seat for 54-88 Key Electric Pianos
We have tried both keyboards, so now it's down to functionality etc.
Thanks for any advice
Hi, not exactly a piano learning question but I am trying to buy my first digital piano.
I was wondering if anyone tried to the new Roland piano they have at Costco?
https://www.costco.com/roland-frp-nuvola-digital-piano-bundle.product.4000278347.html
Trying to figure out if the key action is the same between this and the FP30x.
Has anyone tried both before? The costco package comes with everything I need that I would need to buy separately with the FP30x which would be $$$.
Thanks.
Impulse Buy! Ended up leaving with only 5 items.
I have been looking at getting a digital piano for several months and impulsively decided to pull the trigger on this $599 deal. I figured if it didn’t fit in my sedan, it wasn’t meant to be.
After I got out to the car it was clear the trunk opening was about 2” too small. Determined to come home with a new piano, I took about 15 minutes to remove my car seats and unbox the piano in the parking lot. Thankfully it all fit and I didn’t have to do the return of shame.
Both are on sale right now but which one sounds better and is better to play on? I understand the Nuvola is a new Costco only model and hasn't been out very long. And I'm willing to pay more if something sounds substantially better and is better to play on. I used to play piano as a kid and want to get back into it but I also remember hating the heavy keys on our 90s digital piano (which was not a Roland but I can't remember what it was).
Hi all,
Can someone tell me more about the Roland pianos on sale at Costco currently? There are three I am looking at:
FRP Nuvola $599 on sale

CPF-107 $1199 on sale

RP750 $899 on sale:

They all appear to be bundles and include the same things, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Since they are Costco specific models, it's been hard to find good information on these. Also, I'd like to know the technical differences between these as well as how they sound and play. Many thanks!
Good afternoon!
Last week I saw a piano bundle at my local costco. My wife has wanted one for a while to pick up the hobby as a beginner, and at $699, this seemed like an excellent deal for a birthday present for her.
Planned to get it today when I went back over there, but it's no longer in the store. Instead, it's only available online with an additional $79 for shipping.
Her birthday is coming up and I'd still like to get it, but the shipping fee is making me hesitant. If the price increases to $780, is this still a good deal? or is there something better I should look at instead?
Hi All,
Just purchased a Roland Nuvola EX from Costco and set it up. This is brand new to us and my child just started so we don't know anything. We plugged in the 3 pedals into the back of the keyboard, turned on the keyboard but when he uses the pedals they don't seem to make a difference. Are we missing anything here?
Earlier this year, I decided to get into keyboard/piano playing, and I very nearly pulled the trigger on a great deal for a Roland FP-30X. But at the time I decided against it because that's still a lot of money to drop on something that I may very well not stick with anyway.
Well, now that it seems I am sticking with learning and playing, and my nearly-5-year-old is also learning music through group keyboard classes at a local music school, I am looking into getting something a bit more high-end for myself.
Costco now sells a Roland FRP-NUVOLA bundle, exclusive to the store. There's not a lot of detailed information available about it or comparisons or reviews because it's so new, I think. It seems to be an upgrade (or sidegrade) to the FP-30X. Maybe more akin to the FP-10? In any case, it evidently has a completely different sound engine; I'm not sure if it's supposed to be better or worse or just...different.
So, has anyone here had the chance to play and compare the FRP-NUVOLA to other digital pianos around the same price point? What are your thoughts?
Bought an FRP Nuvola and overall really like it. I'm new to piano and digital piano. I have about 4 keys that make an audible click when pressed, one really bad. It's not that loud, so wouldn't be a problem for a piece played loudly, but is a problem when playing on low volume (which I primarily do). This particular key is really important to me too for what I'm currently learning. None of the white keys make the click sound, just a few black ones.
Is there an easy fix or should I contact Roland support? Or is it just a return it to Costco deal and but a new one or different model?
I’m looking to buy my first electric piano, one that would be quality and last 15+ years. My partner played when they were a kid and is looking to get back into it. We have very young kids and hope having a quality piano in the home would encourage them to want to play. My budget is ~$1,000.
With the FRP Nuvola being on sale at Costco I was very intrigued. When I looked online the CPF-107 looks a bit nicer (both physically and its capabilities).
I’d love to hear feedback from people who have purchased the FRP Nuvola as well as the CPF-107 and hear what they like and do not like.
PS Curious if anyone thinks the CPF-107 might go on sale any time soon as I’m in no rush to buy.

I'm also looking at both of these models and trying to decide, but it looks like the CFP-107 is now on sale for $899.99!
