March 23, 2021FYI the IKEA Norden double drop-leaf table fits perfectly inside a wide IVAR section (89x30cm). A very useful alternative to the IVAR folding table.
I'll post some newer photos of the place, cleaned up and with the table in use fully unfolded if I remember to. More on reddit.com

Table top/ Extension leaf: Particleboard, Plastic edging, Stain, Clear acrylic lacquer, Ash veneer That's the big problem. Because the top is just "Furniture board" it's pretty soft, even with the ash veneer the particle board likes to dent. Dropping something like a book or dragging something heavy like a heavy plate of food or tray is going to mark it. You could put a glass top on it, to protect the surface, but that's not usually a good idea on a dining room table. To be honest for the price ( USD$329.00) you can probably get a decent dining room table that has a solid wood top already, or buy one second hand. The style of this table isn't much different than most solid tables made since the 80s (at least in USA.) The only special part is the extendability, but that's easy to find here as well. Old photos; forgive the mess, was still DIYing.
Been meaning to make this post for a while now. Might not be a surprise to folks here but I've not seen mention of it. I was so happy to stumble across this when planning my remodel as it's such an elegant solution. I have a modest 1 room flat with no space there or in the kitchen for a full sized table, and needed shelving along the wall. I love to cook and host, and wasn't gonna compromise on my ability to throw dinner parties.
It's perfect for me as I can just unfold the one side as you would the IVAR built-in table when I'm alone or with my partner, but can pull it out into the room when I've got more people over. I keep the large table cloth and extra table settings in the drawers, needed only in its full configuration.
Not visible in the pics, but I keep some old stacked stools in the narrow IVAR section on the right for extra seating, and they also double as mini coffee tables when called for. The only reason the table isn't quite flush with the shelving in these photos is because my baseboard catches the bottom of the drop-leaf. I plan to trim it in the future.
Altogether a wonderfully practical, versatile, and compact setup.

Hello,
I would like to buy INGATORP in Deutschland. It looks nice and has functionality to extend.
I checked review https://www.ikea.com/de/de/p/ingatorp-ausziehtisch-schwarz-90222407/ and most of them says that after 2 years the table lost the beuty. Easy to make scratches and it lost colors.
Can someone suggest is it worth it? May be how to make this table more resilient to scratches?
If there are some photos how it looks after > 1-2 years of usage. pls share.

I’ve had this table for a couple years now. Ours has one scratch from dragging something across it but it’s not super obvious. Haven’t had any colour loss. Overall I’m happy with mine. We haven’t been particularly careful with it and it’s held up well and still looks nice.

I was all keen to get the Norden but it wasn't available in Australia at the time we needed a table. I ended up with the Norden extendable version instead which ended up being a decent choice if you've got the space for a 4 person table but want to seat more people occasionally. I think the gateleg aspect would have been irritating as an everyday table (there are 3 of us in our household). So probably comes down to the space available and every day living. If your not sitting at the table every day (even when we're not eating at it ours gets lots of use as a work/homework/crafting space) and don't have space for a dedicated dining table then go with the most compact option, otherwise go with the most practical - which from your options I'd say would be the danderyd

Had a Norden in a rental and then immediately bought one ourselves. It’s great for flexibility. We’ve moved ours around the room a fair bit as well for different uses and it’s not had any issues. We have a living/dining room so mixed usage of our table was vital - until my partner got a wfh job and turned it into to his computer desk at least. Daily use for a year, still no issues.
