Built this monstrosity a weekend or so ago. The top weighs a metric bleep-ton, measuring in at about 6'6" from point to point. It has a 2" hole cut in the middle to support a solar LED umbrella, and each seat has 30" of table edge, so it can comfortably seat 8 adults, no problem. I'm not a small man (280lbs) and sitting on the bench seats doesn't move this thing at all. I can climb on top of it with no real movement either. It's built with kiln dried fir, screwed together from the underside so no fasteners are visible. Just need to add the stainless steel bolts from the legs to the frame, but so far it's proving to be super solid.
The lazy susan was built with left over cutoffs, set on a bearing with a 2-1/8" hole in the center rated for 500 lbs, with four ball casters supporting the outside edges so it won't tip and wobble under weight. I epoxied a thin sheet of macralon acrylic to the underside to keep the bearings from compressing a channel into the wood, then rubbed it down with a spar urethane to protect the wood from water and sunlight. I sorta like the bright woodtone vs. the stained red tabletop contrast.
All in all, it weighs about... a lot. Gotta figure out how I want to protect the frame, whether I want to stain it redwood like the rest of it, or go for a solid black paint.
