February 13, 2025 - Russell Stover Chocolates, Inc. is an American manufacturer of candy, chocolate, and confections. Founded by Russell Stover, an American chemist and entrepreneur, and his wife Clara Stover in 1923, it is an independent subsidiary of Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli.

The Stovers open a drive-in store, ice cream parlor and ice cream factory in Kansas City. The company name is officially changed to Russell Stover Candies.

Russell Stover was headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, and Stover lived in nearby Mission Hills, Kansas. When he died in 1954 the company was selling about 5,500 tons of yummy stuff a year. The company continues to the delight of all who have a yen for fine chocolate.

August 26, 2025 - The treat was a hit, selling a million bars the first year and double the year after. Stover had multiple buyout offers, which he declined. Others soon created knock-offs and Eskimo Pie sales plummeted. Russell and his wife Clara eventually sold the company for meager profits.
