Hi Everyone! ๐
I know there are lots of guides out there for patching YouTube and YouTube Music. Although the process is basically the same for Reddit, there are some extra steps you need to follow to get Reddit RVX up and running. That's why I decided to make this post.
This is the ๐ Guide for YouTube ReVanced Extended, if that's what you're looking for.
Note: There are several methods for patching Reddit RVX. I'm going to stick with just 2 methods in this post.
Things you need beforehand
RVX Manager by inotia00
AntiSplit-M (For converting .apkm to .apk file) from GitHub.
Termux - For Method 2.
MicroG-RE or any other GmsCore fork aren't needed for Reddit RVX App.
Method 1
1. Install RVX Manager by inotia00. After installing, go to Patcher > Select an app > click on Suggested (Version). It will redirect you to APKMirror where you need to download the Reddit APK.
Always go for the recommended version as it is more stable.
2. Now here's where AntiSplit-M comes in. Download and install it. Open the app > Settings icon (bottom right corner) > File Save Method drop-down menu > Choose "Same Directory as selected file" > Uncheck "Show dialog allowing selection of which splits to include" > Check "Automatically select splits for your device specifications" > Check "Force Merging and Sign the APK as well" > Close.
3. Select "Split APK to Merge/AntiSplit" and now navigate to your Reddit .apkm file and choose it.
4. It will ask where to save your .apk final file. Choose your destination path and click save.
5. Wait for the app to complete the process of converting the Reddit .apkm file to a Reddit .apk file.
6. It will show "File saved successfully".
7. Now go back to RVX Manager > Patcher > Select an app > Storage and choose your Reddit .apk file.
8. Click on Patches and select the 'default' option.
Note: DO NOT SELECT "CHANGE PACKAGE NAME". You should not change the package name.
Keep the original package name as it is:
com.reddit.frontpage
Why?
As of writing this post, there's a bug in that patch which won't let you log in to Reddit. However, Method 2 using ReVancify in Termux might mitigate this issue.
More information here ๐ GitHub Discussion. Maybe this patch will be fixed by inotia00 very soon. I don't know much about this. Hopefully, it will be fixed by the time you're reading this post in the future.
โ
Bonus Tip: If you don't want Google Play Store to auto-update Reddit, enable Universal Patches in the RVX Manager Settings tab and include the "Change Version Code" patch. ๐ค
Note: DO NOT SELECT "Disable edge-to-edge display" patch. Uncheck this patch if you're Android 14 or lesser.
If you're Android 15 or greater then Choose this patch.
Why?
This patch will make Reddit RVX App Crash if you're Android 14 or below.
For More in-depth Info, Refer patch inotia00/ReVanced_Extended#2859
9. Click Done > Patch. The process will finish, and Method 1 is complete.
Method 2
Credits Source: Inotia00 Documentation
This method uses the ReVancify Tool with the Termux App
1. Download and install the Termux app and open it.
2. Type termux-setup-storage to give storage permission to the Termux App.
3. Now Type this Single Line Code/Command ๐
curl -sL https://github.com/decipher3114/Revancify/raw/refs/heads/main/install.sh | bash
(This will install ReVancify, it'll take a few seconds to install it. Note: This Code can occasionally change, so if it doesn't work, refer to Inotia00 Documentation or Decipher3114.)
4. Now, Type revancify.
5. From the Revancify menu, select "Change Source" and select "ReVanced-Extended". Then, press Done.
6. Select "Update Assets" to download the latest CLI and patch files.
7. Select "Patch App" and choose the app Reddit to auto-download and patch. From the Version Selection Menu, choose the "Auto Select" option or a version labeled [RECOMMENDED].
8. If the download feature doesn't work, follow the steps on this page. Then, move the APK you downloaded into Internal storage > Revancify > Stock. Return to Revancify and press Import to import the APK you placed in the Stock directory.
9. Choose patches to include or exclude. If you aren't sure, just press Recommended. Here, you can try the "change package name" patch, but it was not working for me (Reddit Login Failed).
The patch options to be selected are basically the same as those in Method 1. Always double-check if you want to include a certain patch or not based on the current latest patch release notes from Inotia00.
10. After you're done choosing > Click on Done/Patch. Hopefully, it all goes well without issues, and the final patched APK file will be saved in your internal storage/ReVancify/Patched folder.
Uninstall the original Reddit app and then install this Reddit RVX app. Why? Because the package name is not changeable as of now due to the login bug. You are forced to keep the original package name if you want to properly log in to your Reddit account.
Verdict
Choose Method 1, if you're not comfortable with the emulated CLI type Termux interface.
โChoose Method 2, if you don't want to deal with .apkm to .apk conversion and want the process to be mostly automated and smooth.
Personally, at first, I found ReVancify (Method 2) intimidating, but trust me, it's awesome that it's automated, it'll do everything for you, like downloading the app, converting, and patching.

So Inotia00 discontinoud Youtube RVX because of people who download rvx from fake websites and people who send their problems via PM repeatedly without reading the Docs so i thought ima list some alternatives to it.
If you want to use something like modded youtube (no custom front end) then you could use normal ReVanced or the latest RVX Build (v18.29.38).

ReVanced YouTube Music seems to be facing significant issues that make it almost unusable. Songs take a long time to load, and when one ends, the next track won't play automatically unless I manually press "Next." Sometimes, it even plays the previous track while displaying the album art for the next one. I tried enabling spoofed versions and Opus codec, knowing the latest app uses Opus, but it didn't help. Initially, I thought it might be server lag, but regular ReVanced YouTube plays just fine without these problems. Unfortunately, these issues persist, making the app frustrating to use.

Things To Know Before You Begin
Read the Frequently Asked Questions.
This guide will use the RVX Manager patching method to do a non-root installation. Check the documentation for info on the other patching methods.
Check the troubleshooting section if you get stuck during this guide.
1. Requirements
Your device must be running Android 8.0 or newer.
Your device's architecture must be arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, or x86-64. (You will find out if it is in a moment)
2. Downloading GmsCore, APK to patch, & the RVX Manager
Download and install the RVX Manager APK from here. It is inotia00's fork of the official ReVanced Manager.
If you get an error saying "App not installed as app isn't compatible with your device." it means that your device is not supported by the RVX Manager. Refer to the general troubleshooting guide for instructions.
Open the RVX Manager. Your device may open a settings page for choosing which apps of yours have permission to install unknown apps. Find the RVX Manager and give it the permission.
Then, go to the RVX Manager settings and disable the Require suggested app version toggle.
Download, but do not install the APK you want to patch from apkmirror.com:
YouTube: v19.47.53 (nodpi) APK
YT Music: v8.30.54 APK. There will be 2-4 variants of the APK, each for a different architecture. To choose the correct APK, open the RVX Manager and go to the settings. At the bottom of the settings it will list the supported architecture(s) of your device.
Reddit: v2024.17.0 (nodpi) APK
If you want to learn more how to find the correct APK without relying on this guide, check section 2 of the setup info guide.
If patching YouTube or YT Music:
GmsCore is needed for patched YouTube and YT Music to run. If you do not have GmsCore installed, download and install ReVanced GmsCore. (If you are using a Huawei device, be sure to select the special download for your device.)
3. Patching
Open the RVX Manager and go to Patcher > Select an application.
Press "Storage" as shown in this image.
Select the APK file that you just downloaded from APKMirror from your downloads folder.
The application will be selected and if it is your first time patching the Default list of patches will be selected. If you want to make sure the Default patches are selected, tap on the selected patches and press the Default button at the top of the patches selection menu.
If you don't want to use the Default selection you must at least include the GmsCore Support patch.
Check out this repository to see what the patches do! (work-in-progress)
When you are done selecting the patches press "Done" and then press "Patch".
Wait for the patching to be complete. It usually takes 2-5 minutes. If you leave the app it may cancel. Make sure no errors occur during this step.
4. Installing
When patching is finished you can save the APK as a file so that you have it for later in case you have trouble installing it or want to share it. To do this, tap save icon in the lower left corner of the screen as shown here.
Press "Install" and wait for it to finish installing. You may get a message saying that the installation was blocked because it is an unknown app. Tap "More details" and then "Install anyway" as shown here.
Optional - Additional Setup:
There's some additional setup you can do to make the patched app even better! Things like opening YouTube links in the patched YouTube app, or setting up the download feature in YouTube RVX and YT Music RVX. Refer to section 2 and 3 of the setup info guide for information on setting up this sort of stuff.
You are done!

A lot of people were having trouble with songs not loading on their rvx music (including me). So I have tried to make a guide on how to solve the issue.
Step 1 - Delete your current version of rvx music.
Step 2 - Download the YouTube music version 7.16.53
Step 3 - Go to rvx manager settings and do the following... i) Enable "Show update dialogue" ii) Enable "Allow changing patch selection" iii) Disable "Require suggested app version" iv) Enable "use pre- releases"
Step 4 - Restart your rvx manager
Step 5 - After you restart your rvx manager the app will ask you to update to the new version i.e. version 5.9.1-dev.2, update it. And restart the app again.
Step 6 - Now go the the patcher and select the 7.16.53 version of YouTube music. Before you patch it, double tap on the patches and you will get a new option where you can select or de-select the patches that you want. Here enable the "spoof client" option.
Step 7 - Patch the APK
Step 8 - Open the newly patched RVX music. And go to settings>miscellaneous and do the following... i) Enable "enable OPUS codec" ii) Enable "spoof client" iii) Disable "spoof player parameter" (After every setting you change the app will ask you to restart. Just restart and continue changing the settings till all three are done)
Step 9 - Enjoy your music!
A special thanks to u/96Lynn who helped me with this issue. (And by help I mean he literally explained this to me step by step)
I have been using RVX Manager for YouTube for a while (With Inottia00 patches), but recently I downloaded Revanced Manager for Spotify (With Revanced patches). I have both managers, but I am considering switching from RVX to Revanced.
I want to know if it is possible to transfer all the selected patch settings from RVX to Revanced, or the opposite.
I am using both NewPipe and Revanced Extended, and I liked using RVX so far. But i wonder its worth continuing considering the project is over?
I've always used revanced, so what does RVX has more to offer that revanced?
I'm still kinda confused by the 3 different YouTube RVX builds in the manager. Do you use the normal one, Anddea, or Rufusin one? And how do they differ from one another?
Hi,
I installed RVX Manager and installed the patched versions of the supported apps.
Everything works great, except...
When I click a YouTube link (m.youtube.com/watch...), it opens my default web browser (in my case, edge), and if I click the button "open in app," the browser tries to open the original YouTube app, which I have disabled, but can't completely uninstall
How can I get the links to open the RVX app instead of the browser? If they do open in the browser, how can the "open in app" option launch RVX?
Thanks
How is Revanced different from Revanced Extended (I read somewhere the developer is leaving). I google the Revanced app and just installed it. But some are talking about patches. [หNoobie here] idk. Also saw that we can patch apps like Twitter, Spotify. Confused with these. I tried asking in revanced reddit they removed the post
Do you think we have reached a point where rvx is better than the old vanced or are there some features you really miss from the original vanced and what should the devs improve upon?
I just download inotia00's YouTube, but the name is by default "RVX" and the default icon is also changed, how can I change it to "YouTube" and to default icon without pc (as it's not working currently) ?
Title. What additional features does the Extended version offer?
Also... If I do decide to switch can I just do it through the termux thingy like I did for Reddit RVX?
Sometimes when I search stuff or use my google news feed it has youtube videos and I was hoping theres a way to have it open those inside RVX?
Is there any major difference between ReVanced and ReVanced Extended?
Step 1: Delete your rvx music app which doesn't work.
Step 2: Download rvx manager and yt music with this links. And open them. Rvx manager: https://github.com/inotia00/revanced-manager/releases/download/v1.25.5/rvx-manager-v1.25.5-universal.apk
Yt music: https://www.apkmirror.com/wp-content/themes/APKMirror/download.php?id=8822868&key=d4fb68d7cc784e480a0e6fd0a9c05cf19543f60e&forcebaseapk=true
Step 3: watch the video
I have seen multiple people on reddit recommending not yo use Rvx or anything from revanced.net because it's nota official resources and we cannot trust it
What's your opinion?
