Are there any fucking Motherboards ready to use a 5000 series out of the box!? Plenty. But you won't know until you have it in your hands. AMD decided to not release a new chipset for Ryzen 5000 (which is actually a good thing, because there's nothing that could have been added for it that would have made it worth buying, except the Ryzen 5000 support). As a result, any boards that have been produced prior to adding Ryzen 5000 support will not support Ryzen 5000 out-of-box. At this point, it's pretty unlikely that you would get one of these older boards, but there's no guarantee. Best bet is just to make sure you're buying a board that supports CPU-less BIOS updating (either BIOS flashback or Gigabyte's Q-Flash PLUS (note - regular q-flash will not work)). Any Asus ROG board, or any MSI board will have BIOS Flashback. Can't speak to the Q-Flash plus. Edit: If you find a board that has a sticker on the box that says, "Ryzen 5000 Ready!", it's for-sure been updated and you're good-to-go. If you buy a board locally with this sticker, you'll know before buying that you're good. If buying online, there's no way to know until you get it. But if you buy it online, and you pull it out of the box and it has the sticker, you're good. Answer from psimwork on reddit.com

r/buildapc on Reddit: Ryzen 5000 Ready Motherboards?
June 17, 2021 -

Looking to build my first pc, and I'm pretty new to all the nuances that accompany such an endeavor.

I already have a 3080ti that I camped outside of a BestBuy for, and have a 5900x CPU coming in the mail.

Now, I need to pick a motherboard.

I know that many motherboards have an option to flash bios so that they can use a 5000 series Ryzen CPU, but my question is: Are there any fucking Motherboards ready to use a 5000 series out of the box!?

I would prefer not to have to flash the bios, altho I'm prepared to do it if necessary. I've watched a few tutorials and it seems pretty straightforward. But still.

It's been surprisingly difficult to locate such a motherboard online, and I'd appreciate any help in some one directing to toward one.

Thanks!

TL;DR: There's no way of determining whether a specific board will support Ryzen 5000 out of the box. Ryzen 5000 support is contingent on the BIOS version, not the motherboard itself. So a board that was manufactured a month ago will almost definitely have ryzen 5000 support OOTB, while an X570 board that was manufactured in late 2019 and has been sitting in a warehouse probably will not. This means that even between the same product, different individual boards can ship with different BIOS versions, and as such, there isn't a way to guarantee that it will have out-of-the-box support for it.

B550 Board That is Ready for Ryzen 5000 (without a CPU to upgrade it)
I'm looking to buy one of the new Ryzen 5000 CPUs on release day (if I can be so lucky). ¿La calcomanía "amd ryzen 5000 desktop ready" significa que es compatible con el r5 5600 y el r5 5500?
No, perdón amigo. Mantente lejos de las motherboards baratas de Asrock. Busca una con BIOS flashback. Así podés actualizar el BIOS sin CPU. Después te va a andar con todos los 5000 series. What are the motherboard's expansion capabilities?
Look at the number of PCIe slots and their configurations. More slots and better configurations (e.g., x16/x8) provide flexibility for multi-GPU setups or adding other PCIe cards like sound cards, network cards, or additional storage controllers, enhancing the expandability of your system.

October 17, 2020 - It's not unlikely that it will be pre-installed before being sent to the retailer but since this BIOS version was recently released it is most likely not installed on current boards that are sitting on store shelves. However you chose well with this board as it has the Q-FLASH feature. This allows you to, with a USB, to install the latest BIOS firmware onto the motherboard that supports the latest 5000 series CPU.
