I've been looking at prebuilts recently to upgrade my current setup and wanted to know if there's a huge difference between the two cpus. I've heard that the x3d cache works super well for r games but I haven't seen much information about the 14700f for it. EDIT: Both prebuilts are running a 4070 super, I'm sticking to 1080 for monitors with a quest 3 for the headset.
Ryzen 7 7800x 3d or i7 14700F?
Intel Core I7-14700f or Ryzen 7 7800X3D
I7 14700FK vs Ryzen 7 7800x3d
I7 14700f or new Mobo + Ryzen 7 7800x3d?
I have the option of two prebuilts right now one has a 4070 with a i7 14700F and the other has a 4070 super with the Ryzen 7 7800x 3d. Otherwise both pcs have similar enough specs, which one do you think is better? They’re both about £1,600 or about $2000.
Thanks in advance
I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, which is an intel I5-9400f to either of the 2 CPUs from the title. I will have to buy a new motherboard either way, but at least with the 14700f I will be able to keep my current ddr4 RAM, which could save me a lot of money given the current ddr5 prices. My use case is only simracing (iRacing in particular) on triple 1080p monitors. iRacing benefits a lot from the extra cache of the X3D. I'm worried about the problems of the 14th gen intel CPUs, that is why I'm looking at the f variant in particular (as far as I know it isn't on the list of affected CPUs, because it is 65W). Each has pros and cons, I know the AMD will perform better, but I will have to pay a really high price, on the other hand, the 14th gen has reliability issues. I can't decide at all, so I would really appreciate some advice!
btw I'm from Europe, so I don't have access to the bundle with RAM, motherboard and 7800X3D from Microcenter
Hey! I'm building a new PC and so far these are my upcoming specs:
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL28 GPU: Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Storage: 2x Samsung 980 pro 2tb
Of course they are probably gonna change as I made the final desituons on format and CPU, but in that last one is where I'm debating right now, being SC a multi thread game, which one would be better?
Update: worth adding I'm playing in a 3440x1440 144hz wide display.
I have B560M A-PRO, and 5070ti. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, and my question is:
Is Ryzen that much worth to buy a new mobo, or should I just go for I7 despite all the issues that it has, according to the internet?
IF so, which mobo would you suggest, mid-range?
I primarily use my PC for gaming, I do work on it but work does not require a stronger PC then I already have.
I have the budget for intel CPU now, but would like to make the best of it, and would go for new mobo and ryzen in a long run if it's worth it.
Edit: fuck it, my Mobo wont support either new CPU, new Mobo it is.
As title says
Are they equally as good for gamings? I wanted to get the ryzen one but i have a intel mobo so i had to pick the best for my setup which is i7
Is this upgrade worth it? Coming from a broken icm on my i5/14600kf
Just ordered it lol tell me what you think
