It's a decent deal as far as the specs are concerned. But the quality control and build quality of cheap entry level laptops, especially HP, Acer and Dell, are pretty meh. That's the dice roll. More on reddit.com

I ordered the 5511 but it's yet to arrive.. Here in brazil, components are short in supply/out of stock, so the product I got didn't even had the production started, and I bought it on 12/jan.. annoyingly, the BR version comes with a 512 SSD instead of a 1TB like the UK 5511; On both sides: Since it's dell's gaming entry line, it's chassis heats quite a bit while playing; it heats to the point that it starts to suffer thermal throttle, but you can undervolt the cpu/gpu so it'll heat less, and in turn it'll actually perform more; On the Intel side: From what I've been hearing about the 551X, the 5515's i7 11800h has a longer battery life and performs better by a bit bigger deal; Although.. Dell recently pushed a bios update to fix an exploit that intel has, which is called plundervolt(basically an ill intended software can make the voltage so low that the security in the processor can falter and release it's cryptographic keys, or something like that), am not sure if the newest ones being produced have it, but you cannot downgrade it easily, and thus you cannot undervolt without following some complicated guides of how to; On the AMD side: I am not sure if you can undervolt AMD properly, but I believe they heat less than Intel; But the main issue with AMD chips is that they struggle a bit sometimes, with the firmware TPM instead of a proper TPM chip if you have windows 11(which is what is shipped on that series); if you add an external TPM it'd be better apparently. Afterwords: Still, it has a RTX3060, and both cpus are good; and it has a huge battery with, 5511 have a 6 cell battery that theoretically can last 9 hours on low profile, but I have yet to test/see that; It is heavy apparently. I believe it weights 2.36KG or something similar. It has a nice screen, mine should have a 165hz refresh rate, but am not sure if it has freesync. it has a nice panel at least. depending on the model you can get either up to 300hz. The ram which is shipped apparently is shit, so you should replace it asap. source. I know everything I said is kinda generic and can be applied to some dell/other brands gaming laptops, but this is basically what you might need to deal with; It is a cheap high end laptop, and other similars in other brands are a lot more expensive.
