If you're getting this mainly for gaming, the 7800X3D is the one to get. The 7950X3D isn't any faster for gaming outside of one or two games where it sees marginal improvements. We don't yet know for sure how the Radeon 9000 CPUs will fair since there have only been a few limited benchmarks. AMD themselves have said that the 7800X3D is still faster in games, and that the 9700X is faster in games. The CPUs haven't officially been released, and as of the beginning of the month no reviewers had gotten them from AMD for testing. The few reviews that do exist are likely samples that were sold early in error, or stolen. Answer from BaronB on reddit.com

the Ryzen 7000 series iGPU | Hardware Canucks
As you all know very well, or probably not, ALL AMD ZEN 7000 CPUs are actually APUs: AMD inserted an anemic iGPU on all of them to deal with any potential future discrete GPU shortage. The integrated iGPU has 2 CUs ( 1 CU = 64 shader units ), 1 less than on the Athlon 200GE. The Ryzen 5 5600G... More on hardwarecanucks.com

I love my 7700x, but maybe I am a bit biased coming from an i5-6500. what are your thoughts about ryzen 7000 a year later? Thanks, @jnjnilson6 for the idea, I got the idea when I saw your thread for 14th gen intel opinions. More on forums.tomshardware.com
Best 7000 series CPU for this build?
I would go for the 7900 (non x) if you need more cores. Should perform really well in an sfx build. It has the same 65w TDP as the 7700. More on reddit.com
Expecting price drop on Ryzen 7000 series ahead of 9000 release date?
The X3Ds won't drop (or by more than 5% tops) as the 9000 series X3Ds are still maybe 6-9 months off. Wouldn't expect stuff below the 7700x to drop - 7700x and up you might see 10% off. Thing is, these are the x variant chips only that are dropping. Regular stuff comes out later. So they don't have too much incentive to drop the non-x variants, and they're already aggressively priced across the board... especially given Intel can't put out a chip that doesn't disintegrate. How much better is Ryzen 7000?
The Ryzen 7000 series is approximately 21% faster on average than the previous generation of AMD Ryzen 5000 Series CPUs. This can vary depending on the game and if the publisher worked directly with AMD to optimize the game or not. For example new games such as Rainbow Six Siege had up to a 40% increase in performance while older unoptimized games like GTA V and CS:GO only say a 5-6% performance increase.

r/buildapc on Reddit: What Ryzen 7000 series CPU do I go for?
August 5, 2024 -
My current pc is 5 years old, and my GPU is dying, so I thought to upgrade my whole pc instead of just getting a new GPU.
ATM, I have a ryzen 9 3900x and my instant thought was to get a ryzen 9 7900x. I've done a read here and there and saw that if I can, I should get one of the 3D ones but not the 7900x3D, so either the 7950x3D or the 7800x3D? But then there's the 9000 series coming out this month, how will they compare to the 3D models in the 7000 series? I'm unsure and thought I'd ask here.
What do you guys think?
EDIT: I use the pc for gaming and general use right now. I used to stream, but not so much anymore.

Have you given any consideration to sticking with your current platform and just getting a 5700x3d? Any particular reason you're using a 12 core processor? Do you just game or are you using your computer for resource heavy tasks that need the cores? If I was in your shoes, I'd check to see if I could update my bios and just upgrade my CPU to the 5700x3d and use the funds I saved by not getting a whole new platform to get an even better GPU. But my use case is strictly gaming, you'd have to decide if just jumping up to the AM4 x3ds is worth it for your particular use case.
