Only one mention I've seen on this two Ryzen series was when they released it. Everyone is using either 5000 series or 7000 series and I didnt seen anyone really using it. So who use it?

I imagine in the apps and games where they got more than a 10% increase in performance at stock or with PBO, those 7000 owners upgraded, and that extra 10% in those specific tasks helped the 5000 non X3D people upgrade. 8000 imo really ended up being for r/sffpc and not really full PCs, it's not like the old 2000G and 3000G where they were affordable stopgap solutions until you got a dGPU.

The ryzen 8000 series is not a direct upgrade over the 7000 series. It has half the L3 cache which is bad if you want to get it for gaming. Although the 8000 series is a monolithic design while the 7000 is chiplet design, meaning the 8000series can run higher memory frequencies and fclk in 1:1 mode (uclk/mclk). The 7500F can be had for about 70% of the cost of the 8700F making it a better value. If you want a 8 core processor for the price of the 8700F, get the ryzen 7700. It also has 5.3ghz boost clock instead of 5.0ghz for the other two cpus. More on reddit.com

If I were you, I would go for AM5. Get a 7600x or a 7700x, depending on your budget. 8000 series is for laptops, its the same performance level as the 7000 series (I know its confusing). What you are "waiting" for is the 9000 series, which won't come for a while. AM5 will be good for a number generations. Get AM5 + 7600x and then upgrade your CPU 3-4 years down the road More on reddit.com

I stopped being crazy about computers in 2021, because i finally got a pc and never had the money to upgrade. But now im ready to upgrade, and have two likely options for a cpu: 7700x and 9900x. the difference in price is 350 to 440 pre tax (usd) which seems way too good to be true, since thats around a 20% difference for a 50% core/thread increase. thats why im skeptical about my options. i mostly play fps games and a bit of other games on the side like black myth wukong, and im getting into cyberpunk later. ill be pairing it with either a 4070 super or 7900 xtx.

I think I gave myself cancer when reading about CCDs and core parking and all the software issues involved, so I've convinced myself to avoid Ryzen 9 chips (x900X and x950X chips). At this point I'd go for a 7700X, 7800X3D, 9700X, or 9800X3D and avoid the 7900X, 7950X, 9900X, or 9950X. Are the 7700X and 9900X really your only two options? I just got a 9700X (and am returning a 9900X to Amazon).

The 8700f is a n 8700g without the gpu. The 8000 series is Amds apu models that have gpus in that are much better than the 7000 series intergrated ones. The 8700f are the models that the gpu doesnt work on. The 8000 series does have usb 4 but only has pcie 4 and lower l3 cache. The 8700f is 8 core 16 thread compared to 7500f 6 core 12 thread. Gaming performance would probably be similar between the 2.

I am currently saving money and planning to buy a PC in June (the start of summer break). Should I wait for the 8000 series to get better deals on older-gen CPUs? I am currently planning on buying a 5600 CPU, but if the prices of 7500f drop, I am planning on buying that CPU instead. I understand that I have to buy a different motherboard and RAM instead of what I have planned. Is it worth it?
