Hey folks! Was mostly ready to buy and build about a month ago and then saw the runors about the new Intel chip refresh coming in late October. Would this be worth waiting for?? Prior to this I was likely going to do a 7800x3d with a 4090. But saw that the new chips would likely be a nice sweet spot for gaming; potentially offering a performance boost with better efficiency. Torn on what to do now. There's games I want to play, but have been waiting to play them on the new rig in all it's glory and am starting to get antsy.
Will mostly be gaming on a 34" 1440 w/ a second monitor. Dont do much productivity work, but hoping to start learning to code soon.
Should I invest in the AM5 or intel platform for their upcoming 14th gen and ryzen 8000 series, I'm planning to buy my first motherboard soon and to build my first gaming pc but which platform should I choose for the next generation so I can be futureproof, P.S I'm completely skipping AM4 to AM5 or 12/13th gen mobos for the 14th gen cpus aka Z790/Z690 and to the A620/B650/X670 mobos for ryzen 8000, thanks and I hope to be in touch with all you guys down in the comments soon.
