I see a Ryzen 9 5900xt for sale on facebook marketplace unopened. It has 16 cores and 32 threads on the label which is unlike the Ryzen 9 5900x which only has 12 cores.
I've never heard of this CPU. I'm using it for CPU mining. The seller said it was an RMA from AMD, and they claim it's basically the same as the Ryzen 9 5950x.
The actual label does say 5900XT, even on the chip it says that.

Which one should I upgrade to when it comes to video editing and basic VFXs?
My MotherBoard-MPG B550 GAMING PLUS (MS-7C56)
I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and it just doesn't cut it, not even the basic tasks in After effects.
All benchmarks on the websites I visit are very confusing and very variable in this two CPUs.
I know they are 4 years apart and don't know if that is relevant or not.
Any advise or article that could help me decide?
looking to upgrade to this CPU don't know which one to buy. Would be used to run a few VM and multiple workloads for a server.
No gaming.
Hey guys, finally upgrading my CPU after having rocked a 2700X for the last 3 years. Does anyone know any real-world lore around either of these units? I’m well aware they’re identical in official stats besides the 100 MHz lower clock on the 5900XT, but I was wondering if anyone had any tales of good or bad reputation for binning for either CPU, and if there’s anything I should avoid on the new or used market (assume negligible price difference); for example, is there a big wave of defective 5950s floating around on eBay I should know about, or vice versa? Is the 5900XT not quite as fond of overclocking? Any anecdotes along those lines would help.
