In my old build i currently have Ryzen 5 1600 paired with a gtx 1060 3gb. I want to upgrade this build slowly. I want to get rid of the gpu and use cpu alone temporarily since my only option is the Ryzen cpu G series, i wanted your thoughts on it?
The cpu I’m looking to get is either the Ryzen 5 5600g or Ryzen 7 5700g
Without the gpu I wouldn’t be gaming, but how will this hold up with daily tasks like
Internet browsing/Chrome, Microsoft office applications, zoom. Like anything but gaming.
Also i have a 500w psu whichever cpu i pick will it be okay?
If i get a gpu i might get something low-end as its a second build. Maybe a rx 5700xt or rx 6600 or even a 3060 not sure. Would these be good?

I'd just keep the 1060 3GB and get a 5600/5600X instead. The 1060 3GB will be much faster than integrated graphics on the 5600G, and the 5600G is slower than the 5600/X thanks to having half the cache, so it's less suitable for a more modern GPU if you did update it later. If you think you will never use a discrete GPU in the PC again, then sure, get the 5600G. It's still a six core Zen 3 CPU, so the basic tasks you've listed for it will obviously work just fine. The 5600s use somewhere in the ballpark of 85 watts of power peak, 500W PSU is of course fine there too.
