They insisted that my IMEI number does not match the one on file, but my service is active. There might be an error on their end, or maybe I have switched my phone and I do not have the original phone that is activated with the plan. Not sure which is true but they keep saying because of security reason they do not provide account number. And the only way is to cancel the number and start fresh, any thoughts? PS: they always say the account number is actually the IMEI number.....

If you are wanting to go to a new Lifeline provider and you have been with them for 60 days (this is a requirement for Lifeline, you can't switch more often than that unless you get an exception from USAC), you just apply with the new provider. If you want to port out from SafeLink to a regular provider you will need to transfer service to a new SIM card which will switch the IMEI around in the system. You can get a triple SIM pack from Walmart or Amazon for $1. I would recommend picking one on another network so that your information actually gets moved entirely. I did this today because they shipped me a T-Mobile SIM and I wanted an AT&T SIM and it took less than 20 minutes to provision.

They lie! LOL It's not the IMEI number, it's the ICCID number and that is buried under settings>about>sim card status. It's a 15-digit number and starts with "89".
