What type of job is this? When you are on contract if you don't work, you don't get paid. Holidays, sick days, days off you are making zero dollars. Does the company have profit sharing or investment in company stocks at a discount for employees? You want to be trained, you gotta pay for that yourself. I've been contracting in IT as a incorporated business since 1997. Three are many advantages, but you have to pay all of your own expenses and you have to manage your own retirement fund. No handouts for you. If you don't have optimal health and need time off periodically etc, factor that in as well. If you are good at what you do and not a coaster type then this may be for you. If not you may be looking for new gigs every 6 months to a year. Can you handle that? Are you easy to adapt and a team player? You could get a new contract and the people you work with may not be so helpful etc. If you are an introvert and shy person you are going to struggle. When the economy goes soft, you may be the first one they cut off the payroll. Then you may be off work for 3-6 months to a year. Can you handle that??? Anyhow don't just base your decision on money.
