I have to make a quick run in before work tomorrow around 8 which is listed as the clubs early hours for plus members. I don’t have a plus membership, just the regular one. But they don’t check our cards at the door regardless, will I not be able to check out or is this policy not enforced?
I’ve known that our Sunday hours were changing from 10 AM - 6 PM to 8 AM to 8 PM. Now, it’s 8 AM to 8 PM seven days a week.
I guess now Plus members only get one hour to shop early
The new hours will be 8am - 10am Monday to Friday and 8am - 9am on Saturday. The new hours will take effect on June 22nd.
I heard about this from an employee at Sams and confirmed it on the phone with several managers from different Sam's Clubs in my area. This information is not posted anywhere on the web. It's not even mentioned on the Sam's Club Plus Membership page; they're still touting the 7am early shopping hours. So if you're thinking about buying a Plus membership just for that extra hour, don't because it'll be gone soon.
If the extra hour of shopping is important to you then I'd urge you to call your store and complain or call 1-800-WALMART and let them know you're not happy about the change.
With Sam’s Club’s new hours going into effect today, are Plus members permitted to shop at 7:00 am? Or any time earlier than 9 am?
My wife just ran into an interesting issue at the club. She had about $200 worth of groceries in her cart and went to check out. One of the employees stopped her and took her cart away, stating that in order for her to check out before 10AM, she had to have a plus membership. I don't remember ever seeing this as a stipulation when I signed up. They told her that if she wanted to upgrade, it would cost her $30 and would not provide an exception. Now, I think it is silly to have to buy a subscription to spend money with a company, but then to have to spend more money to spend money earlier in the day? I think the Waltons have taken this too far. Thoughts? Needless to say, I think a renewal is not in our future.
Followup: My wife ended up posting on Facebook, and the store manager ended up calling to speak with her.
Additional details of the story is that my wife was at the checkout, and an error came up on the screen. She called someone over to look at it, and that person is the one who told her she could not check out. My wife said, "What? That doesn't make any sense." The lady explained that if she wanted to upgrade her membership, she could or she could leave her groceries there. My wife had to get to work, so she said no. The lady grabbed her cart and walked off. My wife shook her head, and as she was leaving, she caught the door guard and said she wanted to speak to a manager. The door guard flagged over two women, and they came over. She explained the situation, and, again, they told her she could upgrade or wait until 10.
Well, after talking with the store manager, the manager stated she should have been involved. They should have let my wife check out and then given her the paperwork to bring home and review the upgrade. They should not have immediately taken her cart and sent her on her way. The manager said she was going to review the security tape and speak to all people involved. She figures someone posed as a manager who shouldn't have or didn't call her like they should have. She also upgraded our membership to Plus, but told us if we would rather refund our membership, she would be happy to do that, but she hoped we would reconsider. We'll see what my wife says, but I appreciate the manager stepping up to take the situation head-on.
What crock of shit I got out of the dentist office early went to Sam's Club after not thinking of plus member bs at the checkout at 930 and was told regular club starts at ten I was like fine I'll leave my cart here and come back after stopping at walmart next door. The lady said I'll let you slip through this time. Wtf plus club member access should be from 6-9 at most stupid as fuck its like they dont want people shopping there...
My local Sam's clubs opening hours are all 10am except Saturday which is 9am. There are orders for them earlier than that sometimes and two or three times I've accepted them and driven to the store. There are always people going in and out even though its before opening time.
My anxiety is overwhelming so I never tried to walk in to ask but are there special memberships that these people can get in earlier with? Or are the hours just wrong online? They're the same on Google and the Sam's website so I just don't wanna look stupid trying to walk in and then get turned away lol. Do any of y'all shop there before it says they're open?
I’m already hearing rumors in my store of a lot of fresh associates getting ready to leave because of the 4am rule. Some GOOD associates. It bothers me a lot that Walmart just expects people to bow down to their needs and changes on a whim. I know I’m going to be losing at least one associate and he’s great! I tried to talk to the managers about making some scheduling accommodations and I just got shut down immediately. So, question, how many associates are planning on quitting in your store?
Does anyone know why cart associates need to go in at 6am on a Sunday?
Our one and only ple at the moment comes in that early to help stock and clean up the store. One of our greeters is in that early to watch the door and make sure only associates are entering.
Block Scheduling doesn't really account for Sunday hours. Just find useful things to do. We had a couple cashiers in at 6am last Sunday. They used their time sorting clothing out and refolding everything.
Why have you all chosen Sam’s Club over Costco? Walmart-owned Sam’s Club is the phrase that I feel is over used by this point, however it’s a fact. Perhaps feeding into why Sam’s Club was your choice. Walmart is a huge entity already, why choose Sam’s Club? Does their Scan & Go and Exit Arch technology, really make a difference?
Is Sam’s Club more popular amongst the single crowd? As I’ve seen or at least feel like I’ve seen a whole lot more families going to Costco. So, as the title says what made you choose Sam’s Club over Costco? Not interested in if you chose both. Interested in why you chose one over the other.
Sam’s Club closing at 8pm especially on a Friday or Saturday night is very inconvenient.
Okay so we were informed that our store is gonna be open from 8-8 all week including Sundays. Apparently our hours in tire and battery are changing too, it’s going to be 7:30-4 and 12-8:30 is this correct or is my manager just making stuff up?
I was curious about the plus membership hours? Are they still letting people with a plus membership go in early? I wasn't sure if they were still allowing plus members to do this or not during this time.
