I joined Sam's Club today, best time since it's on special.
Anyways. I noticed they are to send my cards via snail mail.
So is there a way to fully shop without one?
Will they make a fuss at the door when entering or leaving?
The reason I ask is because there is a separate "Register Membership" option under Login
But, when I logged in normally, under my account, it will display a digital card.
The digital card doesn't seem to be the same number they will be shipping out.
I will b shopping at the one in Chino, CA if that's of any relevance.

If not the desk should have been able to issue you a physical one onsite(assuming they had them, we run out frequently) But to basically answer your questions, your digital card works the same as the physical, the door wont give you an issue just show them your app, the register membership is for people who don't have a dotcom account(all new members should auto be signed up for one) your account already has it. The reason it is different numbers is 690 numbers are the pre-printed numbers while the 101 number is the actual number, they both work for you. And your card works throughout the world, if you went to a Mexico club they can let you shop and vice versa.

The number on the digital card is your original membership number. That will never change. The number on the physical card will be different. As for your membership card coming in the mail, I’m not so sure about that. You need to go to the membership desk & retrieve your membership card. They can issue you one out when they bring up your account. The digital card on your phone is the same as a physical card. You can use that for getting in the club by showing the greeter @ the entrance. I find the main reason for people needing the physical card is to use it @ the gas pump.

I joined Sam's Club last October. I signed up online because they had a deal for $15 for a base membership. All well and good there. I set up the app and whatnot. When I went into the store I asked for a physical card and just said I have to use the app. So how do those w/o a smartphone able to become a member? I'd actually prefer having a card than getting out my phone.

It's policy that they give a physical card upon request. Clubs are frequently out of membership cards so verify that's not the case.

We constantly run out of cards because members "lose" them every other week. Then the younger ones complain "what about the elderly or one's with a flip phone?" Well they rarely lose their cards and we don't have many to replace theirs because of the younger ones. It's a no win situation.
