Samsung gas Dryer won’t keep heating…technician is stumped
Hello I bought this gas dryer but I didn’t realize I don’t have a gas line can I still use the dryer null
Are Samsung washers & dryers THAT bad?
Samsung Dryer....terrible decision?
Buying an entire suite from one brand is difficult. Companies usually only make one or two good types of appliances; and just produce the other ones to fill out the product line. Nobody makes good everything. Having one of the best, most reliable and easy-to-repair appliances that may just last last 50 years without issue like the ones from the 70's is going to be a lot more impressive than having it match another Samsung.
Which brings me to the real tough one to tell you; and I'm only saying it in case you can unwind this: Samsung, along with LG, is universally hated here. I mean universally; from end-users to the most seasoned appliance repair pro. But remember, we always hear from the complainers. I'm sure there are a ton of people who love their Samsung appliances, but why would they have interest in finding a forum to say so?
Look, I think everyone understands the aesthetics of matching appliances in the kitchen. But when every room has the same brand appliance in it, I openly congratulate the look; and silently congratulate the salesperson.
p.s. I just looked up your link before I saved this. Holy cow. Do you realize for another $50 you are in Speed Queen territory?

Hi all, I have a Samsung gas dryer DVG50A8600E that has been operating as expected for almost 2 years. We just moved homes and it’s now acting up.
I can hear the dryer ignite but it cuts off after about 10 seconds.
I have verified the exhaust vent is in fact not blocked. It is a brand new home too so there is no debris or even dust inside the tube.
I put the dryer shoe rack inside and put a meat thermometer inside. The dryer will warm up to about 130° and then stop. It will somewhat rotate on and off, but mostly it stays off. One time it got up to 180° again but then turned off and never turned back on.
The clothes are mildly warm but they just don’t get warm enough to dry.
A technician came by today and he couldn’t assess why it wouldn’t stay ignited. It is responding to all of the commands but some safety cut off seems to be turning off the dryer.
I don’t know whether this is a fuse issue, thermistor, or something else.
I don’t know if anything can become dislodged from a gentle move (we moved about 2 miles down the road) but I’m stumped. I’m pretty handy and the technician said he had to do more research.
Any help is appreciated!
