What am I missing here? The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW seems like a superior phone for $300 cheaper

I think this phone should have been the S20, maybe with a glass back instead. It’s a good price with good specs. Considering you have to choose between a high resolution or high refresh rate there is no point in having a higher resolution. Also I’m sure there’s a very negligible difference in the main shooters. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE honest review after 6 months of use: Feels like money well spent

Eh, imma do mine here too Build - Don't know Don't care, I use a casing and a screen protector Performance - Supports normal media consumption quite fluidly, games work fine with no frame rate drops. Does heat quite a little when playing heavy games like Minecraft Screen - FHD+ is noticibly a downgrade from my previous phone, which has a QHD+ display, but it's ok and doesn't matter for me too much. Saturation could be more but its fine. 120hz is smooth and fluid Battery - Getting around 6-7h sot everyday (heavy user here), not bad, quite impressive. I charge overnight here but no noticeable degrade here Haptics - It is good even when I'm using a thicc casing Camera - The best part of this phone, the saturation is alright for me and the quality is very crisp, 👍👍. Best part of the phone imo Conclusion - Yes, it can be better in a lot of ways, the touchscreen issues are still there but is less often now. Overall a really good value phone. More on reddit.com

Thinking of getting the s20 FE. Would you still recommend this phone in April(basically) 2022?

I got mine new, with fast charger + USB-C headphones for $500 about a year ago on eBay, so you should definitely be able to find it for cheaper than $600 new. I recently spent about a week comparing the camera to S22/Pixel6/iPhone 13, as they all had great trade in deals for the price I paid for my S20FE, but considering the camera is ALMOST as good as those 3, while none of them have an expandable storage slot, upgrading didn't make sense for me. It would have cost me $500+ to get a slighty better camera with same storage capacity, and I just don't take enough pictures and barely any video for that to be worth it. Even if I was a content creator, if I'm spending 1000+ on a device, it's probably not a phone camera...

If you're focused on Samsung, and want to save a few dollars, I'd recommend the S20FE (not 21FE cause no microSD slot) or maybe the S21 series over S22, or maybe even the new A53 or A73 if you don't NEED a flagship and want a phone that came out this year.
