Hey Guys,I currently have a Moto G Play (2021) on a Metro Plan and am eligible for an upgrade. Any suggestions for what's currently available for 200$ or less? Here are the ones I saw at the store today. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.-One Plus Nord N300 5G
-Moto g 5g
-One Plus Nord N20 5g
-T Mobile REvv6 Pro 5g
-Galaxy A23 5g (**Note sure if this one is under 200$ upgrade price though)
-Samsung Galaxy A14 5g
-Nokia G400 5g
-Samsung Galaxy A13
If it matters, I use my phone for watching videos, light gaming, scrolling through reddit, phone calls, listening to music through bluetooth connections, taking pictures or family and places, and other normal phone things.
Thanks again for any advice.
Their upgrade pricing is bunk. Best way to upgrade is to order a phone from their website with a new line. Then when you get the phone, log into the new account (via the web site or the MyMetro app) and choose "switch phones" and put in the IEMI of an old phone you have sitting around that is compatible with Metro/Tmobile. This will unlink the new phone from the new account and you can then log into your existing account and "switch phones" to your new phone IEMI. Then put your old SIM card into the new phone and voila - you are upgraded (for the cost of the "new line" phone and 1 month of service that is tied to the new account.
Using this method you can get these phones for these prices (based on current "new line" cost + 1 month service + no activation fee for online orders)
-
Nord N20 5G for $69.99 ($29.99 for phone + $40 for service)
-
Galaxy S21 FE 5G for $239.99 ($199.99 for phone + $40 for service)
-
Galaxy A54 5G for $139.9 ($99.99 for phone + $40 for service)
-
Galaxy A23 5G for $89.99 ($49.99 for phone + $40 for service)
-
Nokia G400 5G for $40 ($0 for phone + $40 for service)
You get the idea. Just look at the "new line" price and figure add $40 for one month of the cheapest plan. The Nord N20 is an extremely good phone for $70.
A23 is a little bit more pricier but I would recommend the moto g 5g coming from a g play. If you want more storage and a faster processor I’d go towards the 6 pro since it comes with 128GB and 6GB of RAM
