r/GalaxyWatch on Reddit: LTE Vs. Bluetooth
April 7, 2023 -

I have been looking to buy a galaxy 4 classic for a bit now, but am wondering what the differences between the LTE model and the Bluetooth model is. I assume the LTE model uses cellular data compared to the bluetooth connectivity required to send and receive texts/calls, but I am wondering if I end up getting the LTE model will I have to pay a fee for the cellular data I am using to send and receive texts, or just overall how that aspect works. I use a google pixel 4a, with a google fi unlimited plan btw.

Galaxy Watch 5 Bluetooth vs LTE – Which is Right For You? – Geekywrist
The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro also comes in two models, LTE and Bluetooth. And just like in the case of the Galaxy Watch 5, the difference between these two is that the LTE model is a standalone smartwatch that can make and receive calls without connecting to your phone.

r/WearOS on Reddit: Samsung Watch 5 Pro LTE vs bluetooth
February 22, 2021 -

So I went to a local Samsung shop today and wanted to get the 5 Pro as my first smartwatch. To be honest I mainly wanted it because it's cool and looks good on my wrist as the other ones are a bit small. They were sold out of LTE ones and there's a long wait list. My use case would probably be cycling daily and using it as a fitness tracker/navigation, maybe for hiking sometimes. Also it'd be nice if it could call someone if a car hit me in the city, as that happened before. I'm a millenial so I don't really call people anyway.

Does the LTE/eSIM vs Bluetooth make a difference? What are the use cases of the LTE version? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 vs Watch 5 Pro: Is “Pro” Always Better?
August 31, 2023 - The Galaxy Watch 5 can be had for as little as $179 for the 40mm Bluetooth model and $260 for the 44mm LTE model. The Watch 5 Pro, on the other hand, costs $$260 for the Bluetooth version and $429 for the LTE version. You probably shouldn't buy directly from Samsung at this point in time if you want a good deal.

Difference Between Galaxy Watch And Galaxy watch LTE
April 16, 2020 - In the Bluetooth version you can only take the call using the watch speaker and not using a blutooth device. This might sound wears but you need to have the earphones connected to your phone to take call via it.

That's entirely up to you, but I got the Bluetooth only version of the Watch5 Pro and have no complaints. I also have my phone with me everywhere I go, so I use the watch to make and take phone calls and it works flawlessly. Technically, you can still make and receive calls through your Bluetooth variant watch if you have it connected to your Wi-Fi network that your phone is connected with. Realistically, getting the LTE variant is not a big deal at $50 more. If you can afford the Bluetooth variant then the extra fiddy spot more for the LTE variant isn't of concern. I'd say get the LTE variant if you don't usually have your phone on you or you're not usually near a Wi-Fi network. If you are off the beaten path all the time and always out and about without your phone, nowhere near Wi-Fi, get the LTE variant so you can get connected almost anywhere you are. The Bluetooth variant is what I picked and I (with regard to my specific situation and experience) personally don't see the need for the LTE variant. Some may want it, just to have it, it never hurts to have too many connectivity options/solutions! But, with my cell always being on me and being connected to an unlimited data plan with plenty of high speed mobile hotspot data, I'm content with the Bluetooth variant Watch5 Pro. This variant does everything I need from it, when I need it to, without requiring the LTE variant. Hope this helps.

One of my previous Galaxy watches was a cellular version. I realized quickly that I didn't need the cellular version because I always had my phone with me. I am happy with my GPS version, and don't miss the cellular function.
