I'm a newcomer to Samsung and I also had to figure this out, this is what I came up with: Z - all kinds of folding phones, Samsung is apparently seeing them as the new S class S - the standard form factor flagship phones S FE - budgetized versions of the S phones (thank you, u/x0juliaa ) A - higher end of midrange phones XCover - like high-tier A but with a special focus on outdoor activities, robustness and removable batteries (thank you, u/_marcoos ) M - lower end of midrange phones (has been moving more towards the low-end since J got discontinued) J - low-end phones (discontinued) F - apparently a special mix of M and J for certain markets such as India and China

S/Fold: Flagship tier. Their Ultra models even more with extra camera and screen features usually S FE: Fan Editions. They cut back on costs like plastic body and sometimes reduction on camera and screen quality, but still flagship features for the most part A series: "Almost" flagship. These will have a few flagship features here and there. Only recently have they gotten OIS (lower quality than flaghips) and water resistance. In regards to software features they also got a few removed but overall, this is their mid high to mid low tiers (I think from A4X series and below is mid-low tier) F series: I have no idea what these are tbh. I feel like they're similar to M series. According to Wikipedia, the F series are M series but for certain markets so yeah lol M series: I think these are completely meant to be the phones with the best battery life. That means usually SoCs with lower consumption (lower end SoCs) and bigger batteries. The cut-backs to save on manufacturing costs are usually stripping down on hardware and software features from the A series, which were already stripped down from the flagships. J series: I think this doesn't exist anymore, got replaced with the newer A and M series.
