The Note 10 Plus is the 1080 Ti of Smartphones
While i agree that the note 10+ is an amazing phone that has stood up well to time, i would say that the s22 ultra is the first phone since the note 10+ that is worth upgrading to. Ram isnt everything my guy. The display in the s22 ultra is far superior to the note 10+. The processor is substancially more powerful. The cameras on the note 10+ are showing their age and the camera array front and back on the s22 ultra is orders of magnitude better than the note 10+ I woke up yesterday morning thinking i had a note 10+ and had no reason to want anything else. I went to bed with an s22 ultra preorder. The note 10+ is the best phone i have ever had. The s22 ultra is a phone that is FINALLY a worthy successor to my note 10+. Square edge screen. S pen and all the best hardware the industry can pack into a phone. Yes i lose the sd card. But i have 1tb of storage in my s22 ultra. Like others have previously said, Samsung really messed up the naming convention here. Note 10+ should have been the Note 10 and the Note 10 should have been the Note 10e. Like MKBHD mentions a couple times, the Note 10(e) is completely neutered and I anticipate his conclusion will be that it isn't worth buying.
Either go all out and get the Note 10+...or just get the Note 9. There's no compelling reason to drop $950 on the regular Note 10.

The Note 10 Plus came out in 2019, and we are now in 2022. For phones, that's a huge amount of time however the Note 10 Plus still competes with 2022 flagship devices.
The S22 has just been announced and it has a standard option of 128GB/8GB RAM, compared to a 2019 phone with 256GB/12GB RAM. Even the S22 Ultra only matches what we already had 3 years ago, and comes with no Micro SD support.
I am quite disappointed because the idea behind keeping a phone for so long, is to enjoy an upgrade that feels incredible. With One UI 4.0 on the Note 10 Plus, there is virtually no difference between these devices as they even look alike.
Just like Nvidia did with the 1080 Ti, I think Samsung is kicking themselves for making a product just a little too good, kneecapping future sales until they can release something that finally eclipses it.

Note 10+ gang rise up!!! Love this phone. Love the 512GB variant with the added memory. Still got 50% battery left at the end of the day. I fully expect another year out of this thing easy so we'll see what the next wave of devices brings. Dropping over $2K for an S22 Ultra 512GB does not interest me at this time.
