The screen of a Samsung Note 20 is 2,400x1,080 pixels. This puts it above common "tablet" or even "desktop" media query breakpoints, however it is often being held vertically. How does one design for high pixel count phones with this in mind?
What are the dimensions of the phone? Also will I be able to transfer what I presently have on my iPhone 6 to the new phone? null

Samsung Dex Resolution
There is an important piece of information missing from this post: There is an official way to enable the higher resolutions without the DeX Station/DeX Pad. This option is available starting with Android 12 (OneIU 4) via Good Lock, which is an app made by Samsung that gives you greater control and more advanced settings for Galaxy devices. Unfortunately, Good Lock is not available in some countries. With all that said, here is the method:
-
Get Good Lock from the Galaxy Store: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.goodlock
-
Within Good Lock, install MultiStar
-
Good Lock -> MultiStar -> I ♡ Samsung DeX
-
Enable "High resolutions for external display"
If Good Lock/MultiStar is not available in your country you might be able to sideload it, but I don't know the details on that.
u/Hey_look_new can you pin this comment? Ideally I think a new post should be made with this info in the actual OP, but until that's done, this should at least be pinned here IMO.
For anyone else's reference, the screenshot in the OP comes from here: https://help.content.samsung.com/csweb/faq/searchFaq.do Samsung DeX -> General enquiry

I'm currently running into an issue where on desktop I have a hero section with words on top of an image. The words are on the left and the subject of the image is on the right. For aspect ratios that are wider, this works great, but for phones the subject gets cut off and the text starts to overlap with the image subject. I set a breakpoint for phones to display a different image (with no distracting subject), however I'm seeing that it is not showing this alternate image on some phones with pixel counts above my breakpoint. What is standard procedure here? Wondering if others have had similar experiences and how you work around this.
