Samsung Pay/Wallet issue - Samsung Community
August 13, 2025 - MagedMagic Recently i received the One UI 6 on my watch ultra and since then the wallet payment was not going through. It opens. Shows the card. Then readers cannot get the card info. I might have found the issue after the update. Below is what I did: On your watch drop down menu. Long press on NFC to get to NFC sittings. Scroll all the way down until you see others. Press on it. Then disable the Samsung health. Now it should not interfere with the card. Let me know you had the issue and if it worked.

March 14, 2025 - Not sure what to offer regarding not being able to reboot your watch, I've not had that issue! ... Same thing. I go to tap, and it goes into a screen showing the last 4 digits of the cards being used instead of doing the transaction. I have found if you hit the back button, and it will go back to trying to transmit and work sometimes. It was perfect before. It's kind of embarrassing at retailers when you go to pay with your watch and have to break out an alternative payment method afterwards.

r/GalaxyWatch on Reddit: Watch ultra unable to use Samsung pay - display turns off when in contact with payment reader
May 11, 2025 -

Hi all hope you can help.

Whenever I try to pay my galaxy watch, I have found that I can enter Samsung pay however, following that it will not complete the payment the watch display simple goes off.

This then returns me back to the home screen then I have to redo it again. It’s noteworthy I have tried various times, in various orientations with the watch face facing me and the orientation towards the payment device.

I have used Samsung pay on the watch meaning I know it is not a user error but more likely a software issue.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue and what they have done to remedy it.

No, I have not tried Google Pay because the cards in my bank are a huge mess and this problem has only been caused by the latest update to the watch's operating system and then it got even worse with the Samsung Pay update. I think Samsung should get its act together and immediately solve the problem, because its devices are not cheap... I'm already 47 years old and I don't have time to spend all day looking at forums and websites to find a solution to the problem. Before, when I was 20, I was perhaps more in the mood with everything and I liked to tinker and fix things. Now I just fight to make them work as they should. It is a general problem of this decade, releasing unfinished things.... 80 euro games that go wrong, 3000 euro laptops that break just by looking at them (a lot of aluminum body and a lot of RGB for nothing). At 3 years old, with luck, nothing comes without getting annoyed and that's by treating him with care. Today's technology is absolute garbage made to last the minimum and to function 24/7 connected to the network....

It's been probably a week that I've been having this issue with my Ultra. I own this item for months now and had never had anything like this. Has anyone been able to reset the app? I am restraining myself on trying because my CC issuer procedure for excluding and re-registring new cards to digital wallets is really cumbersome. Edit: just to add that I am surprised to find so few people complaining about this....

r/GalaxyWatch on Reddit: Contactless payments not working on 5 Pro
August 4, 2023 -

Got a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro in February this year and use Google Pay quite a lot with it.A few days ago (using London Underground) the contactless payment was rejected, so I tried the other card in my google wallet (also on watch) and it also failed. I used google pay on my phone (s23U) and it worked fine.

Has anyone else had this problem? I can't think of any settings I might have changed.

I thought it might be a bug with Google Wallet/Pay whatever it's called, so I tried using Samsung Pay again and that's also not working. The diagnostics Samsung Members app thing says the NFC is working fine.

I have tried the following suggested solutions:

  • Restarting the watch and the connected phone.

  • Ensuring that NFC is turned on, on my watch, and turning it off and back on again.

  • Deleting the cards and re-adding them from the Google Pay and Samsung Pay apps from both my phone and watch.

  • Ensuring the cards themselves are not blocked, and attempting to add different cards (none work).

  • Ensuring Google Pay and Samsung pay work with these cards on another device.

  • Ensuring that the phone, watch, google pay app, Samsung pay app and galaxy wearable app are all up to date.

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling Galaxy wearable.

  • Deleting the cache and data from Galaxy Wearable.

  • Deleting the cache and data from the Google Wallet app and Samsung Pay plugin and app.

  • Deleting the Google Wallet and Samsung Pay apps and reinstalling them (from both the phone and watch)

  • Doing a factory data reset on the watch.

Any other suggestions? Samsung support only suggest I drive to a service centre (a few hours away). When the Google Wallet contactless method fails, a message saying "that didn't work" pops up.

I purchased it about a month ago, but it didn't come with Samsung Pay pre-installed. samsung wallet seems to be functioning fine with my phone, but when I attempted to download 'Samsung Pay (Watch Plug-in),' it displayed a message stating that Cant open Samsung pay, Your watch may not be supported.

Yes, it's a mess. I realize all of this must be very complex, which explains why despite the OS being around since 2014, stuff still doesn't work as expected. Or perhaps it does, come to think of it. I've been using Samsung Pay for the past 6 months or so on my Galaxy Watch. For some inexplicable reason the Galaxy Wearable app reset itself on my phone overnight, losing connection to the watch. Logging into the Samsung website showed the watch as disconnected. Samsung Pay still worked. Now I decided to reconnect to the phone, which forced a reset of the watch. Lost all settings as the Samsung/Google system seemed to think it's a "new phone." Brilliant stuff. Upon reinstallation of all apps, Samsung Pay is Samsung Wallet on the phone and the Samsung Pay app when activated on the watch says "Get ready to use Samsung Pay on your phone." Going to the phone I expected to be taken through yet another set up, but no. Accepting the message with an OK I got a "Keep connected to your mobile device" message on the watch. Did this suggest it's not connected? Uninformative, like "It's good to breathe" when one's respiratory tract is obstructed. The Galaxy Wearable app on the phone claims the watch is connected and "Find my watch" works. Yes, more inexplicable stuff. So now starts the fun for all of us with nothing better to do than trying to make our electronic pets work. Perhaps uninstall Samsung Wallet on the phone, and try to activate Samsung Pay on the watch first. EDIT: So uninstalled SWallet and Spay from the phone. Reinstalled Spay, it then proceeded to reinstall to the watch. This time when activating it on the watch it took me through the start up menu explaining how it works. Oh jolly, perhaps it would work. As soon as I activated it the phone advised it was downloading and installing another update. After that it was back to the previous message on the watch "Get ready to use Samsung Pay on your phone." When trying to trigger it from the phone I this time, after a while got "Failed to connect to server. Try again later." I waited and tried again, this time it took me through the whole registration procedure, requiring me establish a security pattern on the watch, take a picture of the card, confirm with the bank etc. So now it works on the watch. Remains to be seen what happens when I reinstall the SWallet to the phone.

r/GalaxyWatch on Reddit: Samsung Pay/Wallet not working on my Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
July 27, 2025 -

Ok so I just got the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic and apparently I don't have the option to setup my cards on my new watch because the error on my non samsung phone keeps showing that this watch might not be supported. I kept sending error logs hoping Samsung will fix it.

So assuming that unfortunately Samsung Wallet/Pay can only be used on Samsung Phones when pairing, what are my options now? Google Wallet isn't supporting adding cards for tap and pay for my location yet and its not known if Samsung will add the update that fixes this issue for the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.

In addition, if you can answer it, will Galaxy Watch 8 Classic also pair with Jio Sim Postpaid if I pair it with a Non-Samsung Phone? Has anyone tested this?

Samsung Pay for smartwatches has stopped working if you don't have a Galaxy phone
June 20, 2022 - Mobile payments are especially convenient when you don’t even have to pull out your phone, but for some Samsung smartwatch owners, Samsung Pay is currently broken. One great aspect of Samsung’s smartwatches, even before the move to Wear OS, has been that they work across multiple devices. Whereas the Apple Watch only works with an iPhone, you can use a Galaxy Watch on everything from a Galaxy S22 to a Google Pixel 6.
