I'm looking to get a new credit card, as my current one is not supported on Samsung pay canada. I was leaning towards the Costco Mastercard, since I do a lot of grocery shopping there, and the one in my town also has a gas bar.
Does anyone know if that card is supported on Samsung pay in canada? Alternatively if there is a better card I should go for instead, I'm open to suggestions.

Capital One Costco Mastercards in Canada aren't supported in Samsung Pay in Canada. Only cards from the banks listed here are supported: https://pages.samsung.com/ca/samsungpay/English/ You can try contacting Capital One and asking them to support Samsung Pay. Even MBNA, TD Canada Trust and President' s Choice Financial don't support Samsung Pay yet. Canadian bank support for Samsung Pay is quite lacking compared to the US.

I was able to add debit cards on Canadian galaxies in Canada, but ever since I bought this phone, I had to trick it with a fake postal code for credit cards (because the US uses numbers only and Canada uses letters and numbers and the box takes numbers only). but now I can't add debit cards too because the app requires the CVV on the back which they don't have. Is there a way to get through this or maybe download a Canadian apk and get it to work?
I have read countless threads with people having the same issue, can't Pay devs have it change depending on the location?

I had to use fake postals as well for credit cards. But which debit do you have that doesn’t have CVV on the back? If you have a card without the CVV, you can request your bank to issue you a new debit card or issue you a Visa / Mastercard Debit Card which 100% have CVV. My Scotia, TD also have a CVV. RBC doesn’t but they can issue free Virtual Visa debit card for online use as well (I have it).

Secondly, Canadian APK workaround didn’t work for me but that was at the start of Samsung Pay so it could be different now. You can install Google Pay and set it as default. It allows you to add any card I think. From what I know, I think new Samsung phones no longer have MFT tech anymore which made Samsung Pay better as you could mimic the magnetic stripe function so in reality Samsung and Google Pay aren’t that much different now.
