June 27, 2020 - Going beyond 10x reduces it a huge amount and I still think the 100x Space Zoom is pointless -- I'd have preferred Samsung spend its time making the 10x zoom look even better. The 100x is just that, a marketing gimmick.

-First image is slightly compressed (could not find a website to host the image at full quality)
-Second image is the 108MP image cropped to relatively the same size as the 10x Optical Zoom (roughly 10MP) uncompressed
-Third image is the 10x Optical Zoom (10MP) uncompressed
On the first image you can even zoom onto other portions of the photo and see the detail that the 108MP captures. You can easily read names on buildings, and advertisements on the stadium. Uncompressed these show even better, however I do not know of a way to detail the 108MP photo in all it's glory.

Minor nitpick on the megapixel math: If you crop the 108MP image to a 10x zoom, you're actually reducing the number of pixels to about 1MP, not 10MP. You're cropping a 12,000 x 9,000 image down to 1,200 x 900. Your post is comparing a 1 MP cropped image to the 12 MP telephoto image (the sensor is 10MP but the image is 12MP)

The zooming technology is shockingly good, considering it's relatively new technology that I'm sure will improve at much faster rate than any other sensor. Samsung however has to work on their camera app (or hardware). Even with latest updates on S21 its not remotely a smooth experience switching the lenses, shutter lagging behind etc.
