How is this phone in 2024? Wanted to upgrade from S5. But heard that S21(or S21 FE?) have display issue when updating the phone. Will it be an issue? My first priority is durability. I want to use this phone for as long as I can like I have used my S5 (for 8+years and still kicking well tbh). And my second priority is battery. I won't use it heavily regularly though.

Any predictions for upcoming S21 Ultra deals?
This is normal year to year. There wasn't a big S20 sale before the S21 either, nor a big S10 sale before S20. "Honest" deals with no extra steps are usually from Amazon a few months after release. The S21 Ultra was at $900 on Amazon a few times last year.
With that said, in the US, carrier specific deals or trade in deals are always the cheapest. For example, Google Fi had a deal where you can get the S21 Ultra for $600 as long as you stayed with them for 120 days. It's unlocked from the start and Google Fi is $20/month before tax without usage. Trade in deals are also not as scary as you make it. There is always a small risk, but most of it is mitigated by taking proper pictures and videos of your phone prior to sending it in.
