The Galaxy S22+ ships with the latest One UI 4.1 on top of Android 12. An incremental "point one" upgrade over the One UI 4 the Galaxy S21 generation currently has. Our unit is also running January 1 Google security patches out of the box.

However, the S22+ and S22 Ultra are expected to reach higher max brightness values than the vanilla S22. Specifically, Samsung claims both phones should be capable of a whopping 1,750 nits of peak brightness.

February 9, 2022 - Bringing together the ultimate in camera tech and the productivity of the S Pen into one phone, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is shaping up to be the one phone to rule them all. The most advanced Galaxy that doesn't fold in half (and it's superior to those in many ways, but let's not go into that now) will get you a super-bright 6.8-inch OLED display, an improved main camera and more telephotos than most (two is more than the usual one), the latest chipsets from Qualcomm or Samsung, and the versatility of the stylus for both work and play.

As usual, the S22 and S22+ are IP68-rated for dust and water protection, but Samsung only covers the standard's mandatory 1.5m for 30mins requirements, unlike Apple which has been outspeccing the minimum since the iPhone XS and the latest models ...

Sure, it is already a year old, but on the flip side, its hardware is still very much current, and it gets to benefit retroactively from Samsung's new promise of extended software support. Google's Pixel lineup is an obvious alternative as well. We would say that the Pixel 6 Pro is likely closer to the S22+ in overall features, though it is quite a bit physically bigger, and the vanilla Pixel 6 could be a better fit for some.

Samsung has seemingly focused a lot of its camera efforts this generation on low-light performance. This includes a whole category of improvements, affectionately titled "NIGHTOGRAPHY", and it includes things like the aforementioned Super Clear Glass, improved low-light portraits, as well as automatic frame rate for low-light video capture to maximize light capture. But, we're getting ahead of ourselves. The other new camera on the Galaxy S22+ is the 10MP telephoto and uses a S5K3K1 sensor.

The main camera on the S22+ is impressive in low-light conditions. Arguably even more so than in daylight. The slightly overprocessed look is a lot more palatable in this light, and the camera has excellent level of detail to show for its work. Dynamic range is also great. Anonymous, 04 Mar 2022I have an option between s21 ultra and s22 plus which shud i buy????If you want good camera, Curved screen, WQHD+ bigger display and bigger battery, go for S21 Ultra If you want faster charging, a newer device, flat screen, newer gorilla glass, armor aluminium frame and slimmer phone, get S22+
