Just wondering what the pros and cons are to each one. Also is it harder to add event tickets and boarding passes to samsung wallet as it is to google pay? I know on google if it is your email you can just click to add to your wallet but can you do that for samsung wallet?
After years of having phones, I finally decided to start trying out the mobile wallet services on my S23+. I know there are tons of posts on this topic, but after just playing around with both for a few days, I can't see why Google might be better. First of all, the swipe up from the bottom, even on a locked screen, is a very nice and quick way to launch Samsung. I would imagine there is some way to make a shortcut for Google, but even so, I don't see it being easier than that. The Samsung Wallet interface looks nicer to me, in that you can have your loyalty cards right above your credit cards and quickly scroll through the list, where Google's has them below the cards and you have to click on each one and then go back to get out of it. But the thing I think I like most about Samsung is that once you open it, you can pick the card and then have to authorize it with a fingerprint. I know Google apparently works as soon as the phone is unlocked, but without really using it much yet, I don't know if that sounds like a good idea. There are two main cards I use depending on what I am purchasing. With Samsung, it looks like you can just pick and choose before making the purchase and then authorizing, where with Google, you have a default card set and would have to open up the wallet to change cards. I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and both forms of pay seem to work the same way on the watch where you can easily change cards. So with all that said, can someone give me some reasons why Google is better (other than it working in more countries or allowing more banks. I don't care about that because I am in the US and my cards work on both platforms). Unless I am overlooking something, it just doesn't sound like a good idea to me that you don't have to authorize the card first with a fingerprint in Google.

New Android User here, I have no idea what the benefits and drawbacks are for each wallet. What is your preference and why? Thanks!
Which do you prefer and why? Thinking about jumping into paying with my phone.
I'm new to Android and I love mobile pay but I'm not sure which mobile pay is better. Can someone share your opinion and experience.
Which digital wallet are you using? I am trying to decide between the two and would love a suggestion based on compatibility with watch
As the title says, which do you prefer or which is "better"
I had started using GW a long time ago and I forget why honestly. I think it was because of lack of compatibility or something. Is there an advantage of one over the other (aside from Sam Wallet being built in functionality).
I use the Samsung Wallet exclusively, but are there any advantages to using Google Pay?
Which one would you recommend me to use and why? I am undecided on which one should I trust :/
Hey everyone
Could I use Samung pay to pay with my phone at card readers but have Google wallet installed so I can I use the Google pay option on apps?
*I'm in the UK
Upto this point, I have been a solid good wallet user but though on my S24 I would try Samsung wallet.
Overall I'm pretty happy - transport card is great and I'm constantly winning free stuff from opting into comps.
Also how it handles loyalty cards and the like just sees easier to me. I know the bank acceptance is low but it takes all of mine so not an issue.
What are your current thoughts?
It seems like there is no real reason to use Samsung pay anymore.
Gpay is not restricted to one ecosystem, has better rewards and is more widely accepted. The only advantage I can think of for Samsung pay is the flip up feature.
Am I wrong?
I'm a big fan of oneui but can't get over the fact that Samsung Wallet app has to be opened for tap and pay vs Google Wallet that does not have to be opened as long as NFC is on. Am I missing something here? Can you pay with Samsung Wallet (default card on file of course) without opening an actual app?
Laughs in countries that doesn't support both
You have to activate the gesture on the lock screen. In this way, while on the lock screen, you can just swipe up and use your card.
To tell the truth I think that it is actually better in this way because you MUST use your fingerprint to actually pay.
Google Wallet you have to
-
Turn on your phone
-
Unlock it
-
Open the app
-
Activate NFC
-
Pay
Samsung Wallet you can
-
Swipe up from your turned off screen
-
Unlock it
-
Pay
NFC activates automatically, the default card is already waiting to be used.
So I don't understand why people prefer to use Google Wallet?
Hey, I pay with my watch like, 95% of the time. I usually use Google Wallet. Is Samsung Wallet any better, or is it the same? It sucked before. I only keep one credit card, one debit card, and some cash on me. Everything else, like points, debit cards, and credit cards, is on my watch. So if I lose my wallet, I don't have to freak out about blocking all my cards, and I know what's in it. But I still use different credit cards for different purchases to get tons of points and rewards. Has anyone looked into Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet?
I have both setup but I'm not sure which is safer to use hoping for your opinions.

I guess they are much the same service from two different companies. In the UK, you have to unlock the device to use Google Wallet if the transaction is over ยฃ45. According to this article, you have to unlock for any transaction in the US.

Google Wallet works well for my needs so I've never tried Samsung Wallet. I'm sure it works better for some people though.
You can add the Google wallet app on the lock screen in one of the bottom corners and all you do when you need to pay for something is swipe it up and place finger on finger print reader just like Samsungs.
Which do you use/prefer with ur ULTRA?
