I'm just giving my review of my Watch that I just bought a few months ago and here is what I think about it.
I came to the conclusion of buying the Watch 7 for two reasons. The first is that it is one of the only watch brands that has support for LTE and that I would want to do simple things like reading messages or making payments on the watch itself in cases when I forgot to bring my phone or didn't really need to bring my phone and the Watch 7 does that really well.
What I like about the Watch 7 is the simplicity of it and having the things that I need. I like how it automatically starts to track my calories burned and the steps I make when I start walking, the data is pretty darn accurate for a lot of things and it has simple achievements that is a pro like getting 10000 steps for example.
Samsung Pay is a serious BOON to me but of course this only works if the retailers and merchants offer NFC credit card machines. Would have loved the option to use UPI app of sorts to fix this issue.
Call quality is pretty decent so I don't have too many problems there either.
What I don't like is that the watch lags a bit which is a serious bummer especially considering that this is Samsung and you would expect a smooth lag free use considering you're not going to use the watch a lot compared to the phone.
Another bummer is the battery life. I get that you can't expect the watch to last as long as your phone but the watch barely lasts a day for even the simplest things that I do on it and I even turn off the mobile data when I don't use it. Not to mention that wireless charging support is not there in this whatsoever so you're stuck with using that proprietary charger that it comes with and honestly I think I regret buying this watch over the Ultra JUST for that reason.
Because I otherwise would love to use the other features like sleep to track my sleep if it weren't for the terrible battery life. The other minor gripe I have is that certain apps have to make you use the Samsung phone inorder to get the most out of it which for setting up just for the LTE is stupid because I had to actually borrow my mom's S23 Ultra to set it up and Switch it back to my non-samsung phone.
And this is a bit of a nitpick but the straps have this button at the back which is pretty hard to take off and put back in atleast for me. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem at hand.
The only other bummers I have is that you don't get amazon pay support in the watch but I suppose that's more on Amazon's problem and not really Samsung's fault on that.
But other than that, the watch is pretty solid overall as someone who is venturing into the Samsung watch series the first time. Hopefully the next watch or who knows maybe more updates on the Watch 7 can make me like the Samsung watches a bit more.
I bought the watch 7 like a week ago. Its my first smart watch. I am liking it so far. Other than GPS features in exercises, i have tried everything i think.
With AOD on, Bluetooth on, Location on, 7 apps notifications allowed, Gestures on, Adaptive brightness on, Sleep tracking on, Heart sensor measures continuously: Getting about 2.2 days of battery life. From the battery usage screen, after using the whole battery, it shows AOD used about 50-60% of it. Havnt tried it with AOD off yet, hopefully that puts it to 3 days.
Whats your experience with the watch, esp if you have used other smart watches before. Hows the sensor accuracy, asking because samsung made a big deal about it in their Launch.
And should i put a protector on the glass? Its sapphire so i was wondering if i could go naked with this.
Any suggestions and opinions are appreciated. Good day
It's also a bit heavy on my wrist, and I can't sleep comfortably while wearing it — unlike lighter bands like the Galaxy Band I used before.
Honestly, I'm also too afraid of damaging it because it's expensive, while I used my old band without worry.
Now I'm thinking of selling it and getting the Galaxy Fit 3 instead.
What do you think of this decision?
